I find it troubling and concerning that churches are creating courses for a monitory fee in order for their attendees to first hear then recognize the voice of God. The bible gives its own course "free of charge" on hearing his voice and learning from him, you will find it in Proverbs Chapter 2.

and search for it as for hidden treasure,

(5) then you will understand the fear of the Lord
and find the knowledge of God.

When hearing new information about the bible it is important that the following criteria be met to go on to further enlightenment about the scriptures and Gods plan for man as outlined in them.

(1) You must understand what is being said to you, this requires clear, precise, uncomplicated and effective teaching by the person who is teaching you.
(2) It must make sense, God did not give his word to confuse or hide His purpose, reaffirming to yourself and to your teacher that it make sense, this opens the door to the next step.
(3) You must believe that which you heard and has made sense to you, this completes the trifecta and opens the way to growth and progressive learning.

A failure in any one of these steps leaves unable to move forward in your learning journey.

Some people seek to understand something before they will accept or believe it. While this may seem prudent and thoughtful if applied across the spectrum of life, little if anything would be done or achieved.

Jesus never asked anyone if they understood, he simply asked them "Do you believe?" (Matthew 9:28, Mark 9:24) Belief comes before understanding, not the other way around. Believing is not easy, it takes faith, and faith is a gift. (Ephesians 2:8)

So, the question today is, DO YOU BELIEVE?

Phronesis (Greek) is a type of wisdom or intelligence concerned with practical action. It implies that with good judgment and excellence of character, and habits, that stupid people are not necessarily unintelligent, that they are just unwilling to question or re-examine their opinions and beliefs in the face of new information.

We have all been guilty of that more than we care to admit. When presented with a compelling argument against an opinion or belief we hold, it should make us stop and think.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with holding a strong opinion on anything, just so long as it is based in reasoned thought, and it doesn't prevent you from doubting that opinion and re-examining it at any opportunity.

If you want to embrace all of the promises in the Bible, in spite of who uttered them ....where, when and to whom they were promised, that is entirely your prerogative to do so, but, just remember this .... God is not obligated to fulfill them. All the Bible is for you, but NOT all of the Bible is to you.

Even if you never admit it openly, we have all been disappointed in God, and sometimes even angry. The root cause of this disappointment and anger, is not in the person of God himself, but what someone else told you about him, and the things he is able to accomplish on your behalf ... especially if you do something to get the process going, like pray a certain prayer, give a certain amount, do something magnanimous, or go the distance.

At one time, God in a "covenant" obligated himself to do things in response to obedience, to things he had spoken to a specific group of people. (Israelite's)

That covenant is now CLOSED, and you are not, and NEVER were the people of the covenant.

From an article posted on the FB page of 'Nova Scotia Proud' it would appear that the leadership of Atlantic Superstore has decided not to participate in this year's Christmas holiday season, by not decorating or playing any associated music.

Their rationale is that it may "offend some of their customers," and while I am unsure of the veracity of this information, if true, I see this as well thought out preventive measure by Loblaws leadership at their own cost of lost revenue through reduced sales, by providing a barrier to those mindless shoppers who spend money on things they don't have the money to spend on things that don't matter, and on people who really don't care, all while in a trance looking at tinsel and shiny glass balls while listening to the dulcet tunes of 'Silent Night' wafting over the speakers. Great job Loblaws!!

Does the policy and procedure manual of a large retail company which also contains its vision and mandate, affect the people who shop there? Or, is it just for those who are employed? The answer is yes to both. Because, ultimately the quality of service by the employees and products delivered to the shoppers is driven by this document.

If you can see the Bible in the same vein, then you will understand that this book written to God's chosen people who prepares and trains them in a kingly and priestly role to bless the nations.

The writings of the Old Testament pages of the Bible are not just a conglomeration of stories compiled by some long-forgotten writers, but prophecy (predictions) written by writers inspired by the Spirit of God to a specific nation of people, the Israelites.

According to a prophecy given to them, they were, and still are waiting for the arrival of one person, and that person is Elijah.
In Malachi 3:1, John 1:21, and Matthew 17:10 .... who will "restore all things."

The prophets predicted a "golden age" before the events of the apocalypse. If you STUDY and RIGHTLY DIVIDE the scriptures (2 Timothy 2:15) this will become surprisingly evident.

"Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10:13-15)

It can't be any simpler than that right? Call out to Jesus, and your saved, that's what Christianity teaches. It's a done deal right? That's of course unless you ask, who said it? When it was said? To whom was it said? And for what purpose? If you do, then it's not such a done deal, if you want truth ask questions!
