It seems to difficult to work our own horses sometimes. I have worked Temp and Promise a few times but I need to do it more. We have our annual fall fair here the first weekend in September so I am hoping that I can be more consistent with my own horses after that!

It has been a very busy few days. On Friday we attended the wedding of some dear friends, then home and to the lake with more friends on Saturday, followed by an evening at the arena with amazing horse people. Then today was clinic day with Rhondalyn Twitchell……Bex and I are both out of shape but are committed to changing that! Hopefully Bex doesn’t have any more lameness issues. Tempest and Promise came along for some exposure and to work on patience when tied.

Lately I have realized I need to get back to me. I have been getting back to what I know and not listening to what I’ve been told by people who are scared to do what I do with horses. I have been getting back to riding ba****ck with a halter, back to connection, back to feeling and back to the horse. Back to trusting myself and my horse❤️❤️. Back to being me❤️

I post a lot of good on my page. My horses are good, great actually. But some days….. Promise is only 2, and I do expect a lot from her. We were not ready for one handed steering today. lol. She waited for me at the gate, even though I had left it open to outside, and we did more work on driving and ended on a good note. Horses do have their own mind and I don’t get mad at them for it. We just continue on and work through it. They are allowed to be them. I don’t want to ‘break’ them, I want to work with them.

It’s so great to finally be able to work outside at home again!!! Temp and Promise were rockstars today🥰. Promise also got into a bit of trouble(no surprise there) and waited for me to come help her out of it😂.
