A POSITIVE view on our DOWNTOWN ‘dig’.

As SPRING approached and the eminent signs of construction were looming , many had negative thoughts and opinions about loosing our beautiful downtown. YES , it hasn’t been pretty but I have loved seeing and hearing some POSITIVE and happy stories . Some stores have shared that their customers have been grateful that we still have 2-way traffic . Great signage to encourage us all to ‘SHOP LOCAL’ , and signs directing towards available parking . I saw a Merchant helping a client carry MANY packages to her car. A group of women were enjoying an after shopping coffee and overheard one say how easy it was to navigate through the construction .
I am so grateful for for all the creative ways in which they have come up with to turn what could have been a very difficult time into a more positive and even FUN one .

For those of you that may not know this lovely lady
…. Meet HELEN HARNDEN .
Helen is our local CIBC Bank Manager . She also was my very 1st employee I hired in 2002 . She was only 15 years old and worked for the previous owner of my bldg . I was thrilled to have her . I set up her little office and away she went learning quickly ALL the ropes of retail . Many years later she graduated and was applying for a job at CIBC . I jumped at the chance to give her a 5 * reference. It warned my heart ❤️ to know that she would be the one that would help send money to the Dominican Republic bank for the School Renovation ❤️
