Repairs are ongoing to Bell’s main infrastructure in Oakville, damaged by a road construction crew not affiliated with Bell earlier this week. Excavation of the area is ongoing throughout the day when our team expects to gain access to more than 300 damaged fibres. Repairs of this size will take several days to complete due to the complexity of the work. Bell services remain stable.

Services are stable for the majority of our customers as our crews were able to mitigate the damage while we work on a full repair. A road construction crew in Oakville, not affiliated with Bell, caused extensive damage to our infrastructure cutting 30 ft into the ground. We’re working around the clock to fully repair the fibre cables. We realize service interruptions are frustrating for our customers. We are continuing to work with companies who are digging in the vicinity of Bell network infrastructure to help avoid such issues from occurring.

Some customers in the Burlington, Oakville and Hamilton region may be experiencing a TV service interruption. Customers can continue viewing their content via the Fibe TV App on their streaming device and TV while the issue is being resolved. We are working to restore service as quickly as possible. We thank our customers for their patience.

Some customers in downtown Toronto may be experiencing an interruption to Internet and TV service as a result of extensive damage caused by a fire that spread to our telecom infrastructure. The nature and complexity of the damage will require equipment to be fully replaced and thousands of cables to be repaired. Our teams were immediately on site as soon as it was safe to do so. Due to the extent of repairs required, our teams will work around the clock until all customers are restored. We expect to have repairs completed late tomorrow evening. We apologize for the inconvenience.
