We badly need rain here in the St. John's and surrounding areas, but also the rest of the Island.
We will see a few spotty and scattered showers tomorrow, however they will be hit and miss, so not everyone will see it, and anyone who does, it's very likely that won't accumulate much if anything.

Here's the good news... There is some beneficial rainfall coming Friday Night through Saturday Night. The bad news... is that not everyone will see the beneficial rainfall.

From what I am seeing right now, and looking at the RGEM/RDPS model, it still looks like the most of the rain will stay farther South, Areas like Cape Race and the Southern tip of the Avalon could see 20 to 30mm, as for St. John's and the Metro... looking at 2-4mm, MAYBE up to 5mm, and then Bay Roberts and rest of the Avalon, looking at under 2mm.

Now looking at the GEM Canadian model, the rain is closer to the Island, and the heaviest rain will reach the Metro with amounts of 15-20mm, UKMET model also has this, but slightly lesser rainfall. The NAM, GFS, ECMWF, ICON & SPIRE models wants to put the system far south, giving us little to no rainfall, and then you have the RDPS, RGEM, GEM & UKMET bringing it closer, so it's a split decision, this will be a hard forecast, and will be watching closely, but as of now, I am leaning towards the RDPS & GEM models.

After Todays near-record heat, and tonight's impressive thunderstorms that rolled through to bring the best lightning show in decades! Newfoundland weather will settle down for a while ( regarding heat & humidity anyway...)

Highs today hit 29 degrees C! just. 0.7 degrees shy of the record 29.5 in 2014!

Tomorrow we'll have lot's of clouds, some rolling fog, drizzle and perhaps some scattered showers in the morning, as well as a gentle breeze, all these conditions will keep temperatures much cooler for tomorrow! but the most noticeable thing will be the humidity, MUCH more refreshing tomorrow!

Dewpoints today was in the 16-18 range... which is sticky to uncomfortable, Tomorrow will be around 14 which is comfortable and refreshing, and the humidity will only drop even more as we get into Friday and much of next week!

Frizz factor tomorrow is WAVY!

We badly need rain.... There will be a low pressure that will slide to our south, and this will bring us some beneficial rainfall on Saturday for a large portion of the Avalon Peninsula... I do think the NW sections like Bay Roberts and surrounding areas will see limited rain, if any it will be a few spits of showers, but elsewhere on the Avalon including the St. John's Metro area, 20-30mm is very likely.

It will also be a bit windy and cold on Saturday with wind gusts likely approaching 50 km/h and highs only into the lower 10's.

Much better weather arrives on Sunday, despite a very cold morning! some parts of the Avalon, especially inland spots could see lows drop down into the single digits!

Highs in the upper 15's to low 20's. ( with low humidity!

UV Index will be HIGH next 2 days, drops to Moderate on Saturday!

Level 6 to 7 Tomorrow & Friday, so High risk of sunburn, sunburn time is 30 minutes, be sure to protect your skin, wear sun glasses, hat and sun screen and limit your time in the sun, and seek shade!

Welcome to the weather page for CHMR 93.5 FM! Looking at lot's of clouds today in the metro! Looking at the view of the Gower Street we**am, still showing a rather cloudy sky. Still 22 degrees downtown in the Metro, feeling like 30 with the humidex.

Chance of showers for this afternoon and evening, we'll see clearing skies for tonight, winds today on the gusty side, especially late afternoon near 35 km/h, with higher gusts, we'll see winds diminish tonight and that combined with clearing skies, and lowering humidity will make for a much cooler morning tomorrow, some folks in the metro could wake up to temperatures near 10 degrees.

You'll notice a big change in the airmass tomorrow! because a stationary front is going to sweep through and flush out all the high humidity.

For the Regatta tomorrow, plan on lot's of sunshine, temperatures near 24 by mid afternoon. Winds turning breezy at 25 km/h by mid day.

In the long range, we're looking at a nice dry spell with comfortable temperatures well into the rest of this week, and the first half of the weekend.

By Sunday, we're likely going to see some of the remnants of Tropical Storm Debby, which is likely at this point going to bring a lot of rain to the Island and most likely the Avalon.

Still early, the track will likely fluctuate some more, keep checking here for latest updates and the latest on Debby!
