⚠️ At 11:00 am local time, Perth County officially declared a Significant Weather Event as per Ontario Regulation 239/02. This declaration applies to all County roads and does not apply to local Township roads or Provincial highways.

❓ What is a Significant Weather Event?
Regulation 239/02 of the Ontario Municipal Act, a municipality may declare a significant weather event when a weather hazard, either forecasted or occurring, has the potential to pose a significant danger to users of the roadways in which they have authority. This declaration suspends the standard timelines required for municipalities to meet their winter maintenance objectives.

❓Why is Perth County Declaring a Significant Weather Event?
Perth County is declaring a significant weather event due to challenging winter weather conditions. Snow squalls are heavy in some areas of the County with limited visibility and drifting snow. This weather system is forecasted to continue through the weekend. These types of winter events may affect our ability to maintain the County roads at the service level that road users would normally expect.

What Is It?
We have partnered with local agencies, gathered a list of Seniors in need this holiday season, and created a list of their gift requests. Many of the requests are to help with the purchase of food or for transportation.

How Can I Help?
We need you to help us sponsor the gifts for the Seniors. We ask that a minimum of $30 is spent on each older adult.

How to Participate
You can participate by filling out the following form: https://forms.gle/c592MmrAxeyKPjYP9. If we are doing the shopping for you, you are welcome to send an e-transfer right away (after you’ve filled out the form) to [email protected] with a minimum amount of $30/senior and include "Be An Angel" in the message or note section of the transfer.

If You Purchase Gifts
Once the form is filled out, gift information will be sent to you.

Once Gifts are Purchased
You can drop off unwrapped gifts, or we can pick them up, so we can wrap and deliver in time for Christmas. All gifts to be received by December 14.
