It was 20 years ago on Feb. 18 and 19, 2004 that the historic snowstorm dubbed White Juan slammed parts of the Maritimes. Just five months earlier, hurricane Juan made landfall in Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, and the strength of this blizzard caused people to describe it as a hurricane in disguise - dubbing it White Juan.
