We’re expecting everything but the kitchen sink with this next weather system in Atlantic Canada. That includes 30 to 50-plus cm of snow for some, 30 to 50-plus mm of rain for others, and a risk of ice pellets and freezing rain in between.

It was 20 years ago on Feb. 18 and 19, 2004 that the historic snowstorm dubbed White Juan slammed parts of the Maritimes. Just five months earlier, hurricane Juan made landfall in Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, and the strength of this blizzard caused people to describe it as a hurricane in disguise - dubbing it White Juan.
