I remember my father telling me something once that stuck with me:
“You have two ears and one mouth for a reason.”
His point was simple—you should be listening twice as much as you speak.
As I've gotten older, I've realized how much truth there is in that.
Sometimes people don't need us to interrupt them.
They don't need us to immediately give them advice.
They don't even need us to agree.
Sometimes they just need to know that somebody actually heard them.
In a world where everyone wants to be heard, becoming someone who knows how to listen is powerful.
