A RUG, A RAFFLE TICKET AND A PIECE OF LOCAL HISTORY

The Breton Museum has supplied us with these wonderful photographs to accompany “The Story of a Rug and a Raffle Ticket,” published in this week’s Breton Booster.

The photos show the remarkable handmade 9-by-12-foot wool rug and an original ticket from its 1955 raffle. The rug was valued at $1,500, with tickets selling for just 50 cents each—or three for $1!

Hello Everyone!

Today is World Humanitarian Day—a day to recognize the people who step forward to help others during conflict, disaster and crisis, often under incredibly difficult conditions.

It is also a reminder that compassion can begin close to home. Every act of kindness, no matter how small, can make a difference.

Today, we thank the humanitarian workers, volunteers and everyday helpers working to make the world a little safer and kinder.
