A big thank you to Boot Camp Digital and Meta for sending me to Utah to present on behalf of Meta for the Valley Crossroads Chamber of Commerce in Eagle Mountain.

I get to be face to face with business owners who are the backbone of this community. I had the privilege of teaching Meta tools and AI to these businesses, helping them understand what’s available to them and how they can actually put these tools to work.

And a special nod to my first time in Utah…

I learned what a Dirty Soda is (I’m hooked 😂), and discovered very quickly that I need to come back here for hiking and snowboarding.

A pretty great combination of teaching, meeting business owners face to face, and getting to experience somewhere completely new.

Get ready with me (and Small Dog) for a cross country road trip! Sleeping set-up time. We hit the road in 36 hours 😳

I remembered to take the bear spray out of the car. They don’t look kindly on that when crossing the border. 🤪 I will be going Victoria to Ontario via the US route because it saves me about a day of travel vs the Canadian route.

Meta advertisers 🤝 pet owners

Both start with perfectly reasonable names.

Then somehow end up with:

Campaign Name:
"DO NOT TOUCH - Working - Summer - New Audience - Copy 7"

Pet Name:
"Princess Fluffy Von Wigglebutt"

Neither makes sense.

Both require a 20-minute explanation.

And somehow everyone involved just accepts it.



And yes, my dog's name is Small Dog (the one in the image here), and no, he's not small. Nicknames include: Pupper D, Pupper D Doggo, Doggo Bear, Squishee, Smalls, Diggity Bear, Pupper Mutt Squash, Biggs,...and it goes on and on.

Today's ads should have taken about 10 minutes to build.

Instead, I got:

❌ A publishing error on an ad that was set up correctly
❌ A WhatsApp error for a placement that wasn't even being used
❌ A security verification request
❌ An ad review request after I already verified myself
❌ A second confirmation that I trusted my own ad

All before lunch.

If you've been feeling like Meta Ads Manager is taking longer than it used to, you're not imagining it.

As Meta continues rolling out AI tools, automation, creative enhancements, new placements, and backend changes, we're seeing more growing pains than ever before. Sometimes the challenge isn't strategy.

Sometimes the challenge is simply getting Ads Manager to cooperate.

The good news?

Most of these issues aren't actually problems with your ads. They're platform hiccups, verification loops, false warnings, or temporary bugs that experienced advertisers are learning to navigate every day.

So if Meta has been testing your patience lately...

This is my life right now. Ad errors upon errors upon errors inside Ads Manager when creating ads on Meta at the moment. At least the system is feeling fancy and giving me a medley of different errors for the same thing. Keeping me on my toes. It's glitchy. And if I duplicate the ad and try to re-publish, it's a 50/50 that it will resolve.

It's been an interesting few months with the growing pains on Meta's platforms as new AI features roll out and Ads Manager keeps changing. And if I'm feeling this as someone who creates ads professionally every week, I really feel for the non-tech users just trying to get ads together.

This will get easier. We're just in the thick of it now.
