Living abroad changes your taste buds emotionally. 😂🇨🇦🇵🇭

When you're in the Philippines, you look for imported food.
But once you're in Canada… suddenly all you want is tuyo, longganisa, fried rice, and itlog. 😭

You can survive Canadian winter…
but not without rice, longganisa, and danggit. 🍚😂

One minute you're eating steak in Canada…
next minute you're crying because nobody sells good pandesal nearby. 💀😂

Funny how we travel thousands of miles just to miss the food we ignored before.

Someone just said “Hi” on Messenger, and now I’m nervous already. 😅

As an immigrant, every random message feels scary:
“Can I borrow money?”
“Do you have extra?”
or the most dangerous one…
“Can we talk?” 🤣

Immigrant life is crazy…
I can survive winter, double shifts, and expensive bills in Canada…
but one “Hi” with no context on Messenger
can raise my blood pressure instantly. 😂☕🇨🇦

Go home tired but still checking your bank app like you’re a millionaire HAHAHA

Every payday I feel rich for 5 minutes.
Then rent, bills, and groceries log in to my account like hungry relatives. 😭🤣

I came abroad to chase dreams…
but my bills are faster than me.

Sometimes I open my banking app very slowly…
so the negative balance won’t get shocked too. 💀🤣

At this point, my money and I are in a long-distance relationship…
because we never see each other anymore. 😭😂

I wake up early,
go to work,
pay bills,
survive winter,
and fight for my life every payday. 😂❄️💸

Sometimes I check my bank account
just to make sure
we’re both still alive. 😭😂

At this point,
my biggest contribution to the world is
showing up to work
with low battery, fake motivation,

No matter how long we stay in CANADA…
a part of us will always miss the PHILIPPINES. 🇵🇭🥺🇨🇦

We miss the late-night talks, random gala, family bonding, and friends who made life feel simple and happy.
Back home, we may not have had everything…
but we had people who understood us.

Now we are far from home, trying to survive, work hard, and build a better future.
Some days are okay.
Some days feel heavy.

Because the truth is…
being an immigrant is not only about earning money.
Sometimes, it is also about learning how to smile while secretly missing the life you once had. ❤️

The hardest part?
You can build a new life in CANADA…
but some nights, your heart still lives in the PHILIPPINES. 🇵🇭

We stay in CANADA for a better future…

Bills, overtime, homesick nights… and being tired all the time.

But sometimes, one coffee at Tim Hortons
and one good friend can make the day better. 😂

Every immigrant in CANADA has two personalities:
1️⃣ “I’m thankful to be here.”
2️⃣ “Ayoko na… bakit ang mahal ng lahat?” 😭

Morning: “I miss the Philippines.”
Payday: “Okay… one more month.” 💸😂

Kahit pagod, stressed, at kulang sa tulog —
tuloy pa rin sa trabaho habang nagrereklamo. 😅

Pero pag tinanong kung uuwi na ba…
“Hindi pa… sayang dollars.”

Behind every “living the dream in CANADA” post…
may isang immigrant na naka-hoodie, may Tim Hortons sa kamay, pagod na pagod pero hindi pwedeng sumuko. 🇨🇦☕

I thought moving abroad meant “rich life.”
Now I understand…
money only visits my bank account 😭💸

Payday feels like a guest appearance.
Bills are the full-time employees 😂

Rent, groceries, phone bill, insurance…
even coffee feels expensive now ☕😭

Sometimes I check my bank account…
just to confirm I’m still fighting for my dreams 🤣💸

Maybe life gives us many bills…
because if life was easy,
baka tulog lang tayo buong araw 🤣

Tired? Yes.
Giving up? Never.
