If you or anyone you know receive an email from 9 Light Entertainment about a lucrative video production offer, or Any email from an address @9-light.ca please contact [email protected] (note the .CA vs. .COM!) to verify the legitimacy of what communication you have received.

There is an ongoing email scam - and this one is quite elaborate, and doesn't go to your Junk Folder!
A company that poses as 9 Light Entertainment (which is my production company) has created a fake website that calls themselves the same name, using .CA domain extension (my company site is the same but .COM).
Under the name of 9 Light Entertainment they are contacting filmmakers, content creators and talent agencies with what seems to be a very elaborate scam - proposing that the talent produces short videos for social media showing them making purchases on a pre-paid credit card and promising them lucrative payouts. Ultimately however we believe that the campaign's purpose is to lure potential victims to sign-up for a pre-paid credit card, to which they would need to deposit money - as well as collection of personal and financial information from potential victims.
I found out about this because a couple of talent agencies were diligent enough to suspect a scam and contacted me directly to verify the legitimacy of the offer they have received.
Every day I am receiving more and more messages from content creators - but who knows how many out there are less diligent and are falling victims into the hands of these scammers.
I am posting some screenshots here from their fake website and a screenshot of the email that they send out - their email signature even has our registered 9 Light logo. At first, they actually had the guts to list their CEO as "P.Patriki" in the ABOUT section of their website, although now it has been changed to some random name.
I have reported this with CIRA, RCMP, and various other authorities - however I think the fastest way to spread the message is to take this to social media!
