🩸 Blood Types Made Easy!
ABO + RhD compatibility doesn’t have to be confusing. Here’s a visual guide to help you understand antigens, antibodies, and RBC transfusion compatibility — instead of just memorizing a table. 🧠✨
💡 ABO memory:
A → anti-B
B → anti-A
AB → anti-NEITHER
O → anti-BOTH
For red blood cells:
🌎 O− = Universal RBC Donor
🌎 AB+ = Universal RBC Recipient
⚠️ Remember: RBC and plasma compatibility are different, so these donor/recipient rules refer specifically to red blood cells.
📌 Save this for your next review and share it with a nursing student who might find it helpful!
