Do you ever feel like you’ve lost your creativity? The harder you look for it, the more exclusive it becomes.
Here are three tips that have helped me get back into a creative flow 🤍
- Take a damn break! It’s not possible for everyone, but if you can, try and give yourself some time off from your creative responsibilities. I’m the worst for giving myself a break, but sometimes just taking an extra-long walk or visiting your favourite cafe (without your work laptop) can be the recharge you need to feel motivated again. My favourite vanilla latte at the moment lives at ☕️😍
- If you can relate to staring at a blank file and constantly deleting anything you try to create, you’re probably in need of some inspiration. Scroll through Pinterest, Dribble, or Behance for inspiration, flip through some of your favourite magazines and books, or visit a local art gallery (Summer 2022 exhibitions opened today at 🥳)
- Designing stops becoming fun when we feel like we HAVE to do it. I think it’s really important to try out a new creative medium or create a passion project for yourself and dedicate time to work on it either daily or weekly — even if it’s just for an hour! There’s a great chance you’ll feel more fulfilled and motivated when doing mandatory creative work. I’m personally going to step out of my comfort zone and enroll in a pottery course this summer 👩🏼🎨
What do you do to be creative when you’re feeling uninspired? ✨
