The payment will be issued automatically by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) to individuals who:

* Qualified for the GST/HST credit earlier in 2026

The amount will vary depending on income and family size, and is expected to be about 50% of a recipient’s GST credit.

Authorities say at least 90 foreign nationals, were found working without proper authorization in the hospitality sector. The operation was allegedly coordinated through an employment agency.

The investigation, led by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and RCMP, began in 2022 after tips about suspicious activity.

In addition to the fine, the man was sentenced to:
2 years probation
50 hours of community service

Officials say the case highlights efforts to crack down on immigration violations and protect workers from exploitation.

Canadians are placing their trust in Prime Minister Mark Carney's leadership, following a projected majority win.

After the results, Carney emphasized stability, economic growth, and strengthening Canada's position globally as key priorities moving forward.

He also signaled plans to focus on affordability, job creation, and long-term economic resilience. A majority government would give his party stronger control in Parliament, allowing them to pass legislation more easily without relying on support from other parties.

However, political analysts note that expectations will now be higher, as Canadians look for concrete action on major issues like the cost of living, housing, and economic performance.

What this means: Canada could see faster policy decisions and new economic strategies in the coming months.

Now? A different tone.
A different direction.

🇨🇦 Canada has issued notices to approximately 30,000 asylum seekers, warning they may be ineligible under new immigration rules.

The notices are not deportation orders but part of a review process that allows individuals to respond before any final decision is made.

While some have been advised to prepare to leave, all cases remain under review and will be assessed individually.
