A strong reel without a strong caption is a missed opportunity.

The video stops the scroll, but the words earn the relationship.

There are three mistakes we see podcasters make again and again inside VOLT.

Not because anyone is doing something wrong, but because nobody told them what to watch out for before they hit record. So here it is. 👇

🎙️ Poor audio quality

We know you've heard people say it doesn't matter. It does. Your listeners are in their car, on a walk, at the gym, and if the audio is hard to listen to, they'll move on. You don't need an expensive studio setup. You need a decent mic, a quiet space, and five minutes to test your equipment before you press record. That alone puts you ahead of a lot of shows.

📅 Inconsistent posting

Your listeners may not consciously clock when you show up on time. They absolutely notice when you don't. Weekly, biweekly, seasonal, it doesn't matter which you pick. Pick the one you can actually sustain and commit to it. Consistency builds trust faster than almost anything else.

📣 Not promoting your episodes

Publishing and disappearing is one of the most common things we see, and it's a silent show killer. Your episode isn't going to find people on its own. Share it on social, mention it in your newsletter, talk about it like it matters. Because it does. Find a promotion rhythm you can stick with long enough to actually see what lands.

I just spent 3 days in Charlotte at Empowered Podcasting Conference, and typically I don’t do event recaps because I’m so in the moment that I forget to take pictures and capture content (thank goodness for my friends who do!)

I want to share three things that are non-negotiables as we navigate the rest of this year.

1. The first is community. If you don’t have a community, belong to a community, have people who know and understand what you’re going through, get in the room asap.

This alone is the #1 reason why my membership exists. It’s so that creators feel less alone, feel supported, heard, understood, and so much more.

Get. In. The. Room.

2. The biggest theme was how important it is to know your audience. Podcaster or not, you need to know who you’re talking to. And the answer can’t be “everyone”. When you talk to everyone, you talk to no one.

If you’re not sure who your audience is, ASK! Ask them for feedback, ask them to reach out, think outside the box and find your people.

3. The third is speaking in a way that’s real.

AI is a great tool, but you’re better. Your voice, your message, your thoughts, your brain.

Your advantage in the age of AI is your voice, being real, and talking like a real person.

This is why people listen to podcasts - to be connected, seen, heard, understood, and supported.

I cringe at “quietly”, “softly” or any other AI cringey word.

Stop running every single piece of content through AI, and start sharing the things that are important to you, in YOUR way.

I had such a blast at EPC3 and can’t wait to be back next year! See you there?

The best podcast reels are not the most polished ones.

They are the ones where the host is speaking something their audience needed to hear.

Trim it, caption it, post it. Trust the words. Follow for Part 4. 👇🏻

This is the question VOLT gets asked all the time.

And the answer is not just "podcasts."

VOLT makes the tech headaches disappear. The editing, the show notes, the publishing workflow, all of it handled, so a host can show up to the mic and focus entirely on what they do best.

VOLT makes a podcast that actually builds a business. Not just a show that sounds good, but one that attracts clients, grows an audience, and turns expertise into authority.

VOLT makes the process feel supported instead of overwhelming. Because behind every great show is a team that treats it like their own.

65+ launches. 4M+ downloads. That is what a real partnership makes possible. 👇🏻

Something shifted on Simona's YouTube channel, and she had to figure out why.

Nothing about her approach had changed.
No new posting schedule. No viral moment. No ad spend. Just growth, quiet and consistent, building in the background.

So she pulled it apart to understand what was actually working.

What she found was this: she had accidentally built content that works for how the internet actually operates in 2026.

Search engines. Recommendation engines. AI systems.
All of them rewarding the same foundational things she had been doing all along.

The elements that made the difference:
✦ Titles written around what people are already searching for
✦ Thumbnails that open a loop instead of restating the title
✦ Descriptions doing real indexing work behind the scenes
✦ Topics that form an ecosystem, not a disconnected feed
✦ A real human voice, in a space where everything is starting to feel increasingly synthetic

This is not a YouTube hack. It is a discoverability mindset, and it applies to every episode you publish, on every platform listening for your signal.

A high download count is not proof your podcast is growing your business.

Vanity metrics like total downloads, subscriber count, and review numbers look impressive in a spreadsheet. They do not predict anything about where your show is headed or who it is reaching.

Real growth signals tell you whether people are staying, whether your content is landing, and whether listeners are taking action after they tune in. Completion rate, week-over-week download growth, listener retention, clicks, conversions, inquiries.

Once you know the difference, you stop chasing validation and start making decisions with real data.

Your podcast deserves to be measured by what it is actually doing for your business.

Not every moment in an episode needs to be repurposed, but every episode has at least one moment that does.

It is the sentence that made you pause, the answer your audience keeps asking for.

Find that first, and the rest of the content stack builds itself.

There is something quietly powerful about a woman who stops waiting until she feels ready and just lets her voice lead the way.

💅🏻 Kinda chic to invest in your podcast before you feel qualified enough to have one.
💅🏻 Kinda chic to build an audience that finds you because of what you actually stand for.
💅🏻 Kinda chic to stop chasing downloads and start choosing to be unforgettable.
💅🏻 Kinda chic to hand off the production and finally show up as the expert you already are.
💅🏻 Kinda chic to have 200 loyal listeners who hire you over 20,000 who swipe past.
💅🏻 Kinda chic to let your podcast do the selling while you do the living.

Your podcast is not just a marketing channel. It is a trust-building asset that works for your business long after the episode goes live. VOLT has helped 60+ women entrepreneurs do exactly that, with 4M+ downloads across our client shows to prove it.

If any of these hit close to home, your show is ready when you are.
Drop a 💅🏻 in the comments and let's talk.
