Colombia is facing a major emergency after a magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck the western part of the country on August 10, 2026.
At least 132 people have been reported killed, with hundreds more injured. Major damage has been reported in several communities, including Cali and Pereira.
Rescue teams, military personnel, volunteers and search dogs are working to locate survivors and assess damaged buildings and infrastructure. Authorities have declared a national state of emergency as the response continues.
The casualty figures and damage assessments remain subject to change as emergency crews reach affected areas.
