Music Video: “stew” by cutsleeve
Ryerson University - Student Production
Looking For:
- (Lead) Kim
Female, Non-Binary, Genderqueer. 25-35.
East asian/Southeast asian. LBGTQ+ preferred. In a state of shame, Kim is forced to confront what's been suffocating her potential. No lines, but will have coverage throughout the whole music video.
- (Supporting) Jen
Female, Non-Binary, Genderqueer. 35-45.
East asian/Southeast asian. LBGTQ+ preferred. Undergoing a pivotal change in their life and within themselves, and finds solidarity and kinship with Kim. No lines, but will have coverage through the final scene of the music video.

Shooting locations: Toronto and the GTA
Deadline for Submissions: September 22, 2021
Shooting starts: October 2 2021
Shooting finishes: October 3, 2021
Rate and union: Unpaid student production, Union and non-union
Storyline: Kim explores her state of shame: how it craves concealment and exposure from a valued witness, the physical aspects, and paranoia. Thematically inspired by “Shame Before Others” in The Cultural Politics of Emotion by Sara Ahmed. Cinematically inspired by Alfred Hitchcock’s “Vertigo”.
Comments: We can accept union and non-union actors through our student agreement with ACTRA. This is a non-paying student film and no permit is required. Actors will receive a copy of the finished film for their demo reel.
Meals and beverages will be provided on the shoot days.
If transportation is required we can arrange for a ride for the actor during filming.
