‼️CASTING CALL‼️

Music Video: “(Don’t) Like to be Jealous” by Del

Ryerson University - Non Union Student Production

Looking For:

(Lead) Female Lead
Female. 20-30. 5’8” and below. Any ethnicity. Athletic build. 

Del’s love interest. No dialogue, but coverage throughout the whole music video.

Audition location: Self Tapes by request
Shooting locations: Hamilton
Deadline for Submissions: October 12, 2021
Auditions: September 30-October 8
Shooting starts: October 16, 2021 (Overnight shoot)
Shooting finishes: October 17, 2021 (Wrap by 2:00am)
Rate and union: unpaid student production

Storyline: Del walks into the grocery store talking to a girl he’s on a date with. Instantly, she gets attention from the people in the store; the grocery clerk, the store owner and some of the fruit themselves.
The girl ends up looking through the fruit aisle as Del attempts to keep her attention through the song. She only has eyes for him, but he sees all that attention as competition, and tries to pull her away from it all through the store as they shop.
It resolves with Del finally getting it through his head that she really does like him, and the couple end up purchasing fruit items and leaving. The clerk and the store owner look at them go wistfully, with the fruit winking at the camera as they go.

Comments: We can accept non-union actors. This is a non-paying student film and no permit is required. Actors will receive a copy of the finished film for their demo reel. Meals and beverages will be provided on the shoot days.
If transportation is required we can arrange for a ride for the actor during filming.
COVID-19 GUIDELINES WILL BE FOLLOWED.

Ryerson University - Student Production

Looking For:

- (Lead) Kim
Female, Non-Binary, Genderqueer. 25-35.
East asian/Southeast asian. LBGTQ+ preferred. In a state of shame, Kim is forced to confront what's been suffocating her potential. No lines, but will have coverage throughout the whole music video.

- (Supporting) Jen
Female, Non-Binary, Genderqueer. 35-45.
East asian/Southeast asian. LBGTQ+ preferred. Undergoing a pivotal change in their life and within themselves, and finds solidarity and kinship with Kim. No lines, but will have coverage through the final scene of the music video.

Storyline: Kim explores her state of shame: how it craves concealment and exposure from a valued witness, the physical aspects, and paranoia. Thematically inspired by “Shame Before Others” in The Cultural Politics of Emotion by Sara Ahmed. Cinematically inspired by Alfred Hitchcock’s “Vertigo”.
