Never Have I Ever…Until Now.

I never thought I would be here, in this headspace, in this body.
Most of my life, I was torn down. Bullied, degraded, made to feel like I don’t belong and I shouldn’t exist. All because of appearance. My body, my face, my height, all picked apart by others, and eventually, by me.

How could I not believe the words of others? Everyone telling me I’m too big to show my body, I’m too ugly to be attractive, I’m too weird to wear what I want.

Yet here I am, in my 30s, in the same body, older, post 2 kids, weight gain and extreme weight loss, and I feel different. I see myself differently than I did when I was listening to and believing those awful words.

I see myself as a normal woman, a beautiful woman, a woman of worth, a woman who can wear what she wants and do what she wants. A woman who values herself and is proud of who she is, regardless of what she looks like.

Never have I ever been confident, until now đź–¤

It takes time, it takes work, and it’s so worth it.

All I want is to grow, to achieve. I strive to always be a better version of myself than I was yesterday.

I’m human. I feel. I go through things. I experience life. Social media conceals so much of that that we sometimes forget it exists in others.
Yes, I am a very positive, bubbly, bright person, but:
I’m anxious.
I’m stressed.
I am feeling and experiencing deep sadness.
I’m going through a lot.

I was the “fat, funny friend”.
Treated like I was nothing. Made to feel like o was nothing.
Barely a person, even as a kid.
And it shaped the way I saw myself for years.
I was just trying to exist.
Trying to have friends.
Trying to feel good.
Trying to live my life.

I can say “I’m not that girl anymore”, but I’ve always been her. And I love her.

I’m sad for what she went through and I’m proud of her resilience.

Show kindness. You’re not better than anyone. We are all growing up, living in this world, trying to be happy, trying to exist.

Just be kind. And don’t let others make you feel inferior.
