✨ August 6 – Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord ✨

Today we celebrate the moment when Jesus revealed His divine glory to His closest disciples—Peter, James, and John. On the mountain, His face and clothes became dazzlingly bright as Moses and Elijah appeared beside Him, showing that He is the fulfillment of the Law and the Prophets.

This feast reminds us that the eternal glory of Christ, the Son of God, is often hidden but always present. It is a glimpse of the Resurrection and a promise of the glory we are called to share with Him.

Traditionally believed to have taken place on Mount Tabor, the Transfiguration strengthens our faith, inviting us to listen to the Father’s voice: “This is my beloved Son; listen to Him!”

May this feast renew our hope in the radiant glory of Christ and inspire us to follow Him faithfully.

Lord, lead us from the darkness of sin into the light of Your divine presence.

Young Adults Engaged in their faith. What do they need? What do they bring? Young adults report that they are looking for three things: praying together, community and inputs that will help them integrate their faith into daily life. With the rapid changes in society, they bring a familiarity with many new tools for organizing and acting in their lives. Likewise, methods familiar to earlier generations are either distant or unknown. They have gone to school with their computers. Their learning resources have been available online and even their school work was submitted online. In the working world, remote work is interchangeable with working in person. They are accustomed to applications that ease many tasks. As they become more involved in the Catholic Church, in parishes and in movements these new ways of doing will also become ordinary. Despite that they value their faith and the Church for the real and concrete relationships that are engendered. How are we going to become engaged in the mission of the Church together?

" Vivere nel cuore di chi resta vuol dire non morire mai."

October 13, 1931 - July 22, 2025

Assunta Cristofaro, one of the best supporter of Radio Maria Canada, passed away peacefully in Markham, Ontario, at the age of 93.

Born in Ripabottoni, Italy, Assunta immigrated to Canada in 1957 with her husband, Domenico, and their young daughter, Giovanna. She embraced her new country, building a beautiful life, finding work at Scarborough General Hospital, and becoming a longtime parishioner at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Markham for nearly 40 years. She had an extraordinary ability to see the bright side of every situation, reminding those around her to "enjoy what we have." She was married to Domenico for 55 years until his passing in 2003. In the years that followed, she showed incredible determination, learning to be independent, served by her grit and her sharp mind. She leaves behind her daughter, Giovanna; her granddaughter, Daniela; her sisters, Giuseppina, Annina, and Carmelina; as well as a long list of nieces and nephews, and dear friends. A service has been held Thursday, July 24th at 1:30p.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home, 211 Langstaff Road East, Thornhill, ON. In the spirit of her generous heart, and in lieu of flowers, Susie always encouraged friends to make a donation to a charity of their choice. She will be remembered for her strength, her kindness, her creativity, and above all, her boundless love. Our deepest condolences to the family

🙏✨ Today, August 4, we celebrate the feast of St. John Vianney, the beloved Holy Curé of Ars and the patron of all priests. ✨🙏

Born in 1786 in a humble farming family near Lyon, France, John Vianney was ordained a priest in 1815 and sent to the small parish of Ars. With deep humility and tireless love, he revived the faith of his parishioners through prayer, powerful homilies, acts of charity, and above all, his extraordinary dedication to the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Pilgrims came from all over France to confess to him—so many that he spent up to 16 hours a day in the confessional! Despite constant trials and spiritual attacks, he remained steadfast in prayer, fasting, and service, becoming a shining example of priestly holiness.

St. John Vianney died on August 4, 1859, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire priests and faithful alike. Canonized in 1925, he remains a model of humility, charity, and unwavering devotion to God.

May we pray today for all priests, that they may be strengthened in their vocation and inspired by St. John Vianney’s example.

St. John Vianney, pray for us and for all priests!
