💔😭 MY 18-YEAR-OLD SON IS A SICKLE CELL PATIENT FIGHTING KIDNEY FAILURE…
My son is only 18 years old, but for the past three years, he has been fighting a battle that has broken my heart in ways I cannot explain.
He is a sickle cell warrior living with kidney failure, and he is currently on home dialysis. At an age when he should be thinking about school, friends, dreams and his future, he is instead fighting to stay alive. 💔
Learning to use the dialysis machine at home was terrifying. Every alarm, every complication and every difficult night reminds me that my baby’s life depends on this treatment.
His catheter has dislodged before, causing dialysis fluid to spill into his abdomen. It was one of the scariest moments of our lives. 😭
He has already undergone four surgeries because of catheter complications.
Four surgeries for a child who has already endured so much.
Yet somehow, he keeps fighting.
By God’s grace, he has not had an infection in about a year and a half, and thankfully, he is doing better now. 🙏🏽❤️
Now we are holding on to another hope.
On August 24th, he is scheduled to begin the blood work and evaluation needed to start the process of getting on the kidney transplant list.
I am praying with tears in my eyes.
🙏🏽 God, please remember my son.
He has suffered enough.
Please, if you see this post, don’t just scroll past. Say a prayer for my 18-year-old son. 🙏🏽😭
May God make a way where we cannot see one.
My baby is still fighting… and I am still fighting beside him. ❤️🩹
