OPC is so proud to officially welcome director Paul Shkorodff to our roster ❤️
Paul is an internationally recognized narrative filmmaker whose work has screened at top festivals worldwide. He specializes in character studies, and is known for immersive, visually arresting and deeply humanity-driven storytelling. His work is rooted in realism, with every crafted detail working towards a single emotional goal.
Paul’s debut short BENJAMIN, BENNY, BEN premiered in-competition at Cannes (2020) and was programmed by Barry Jenkins as part of the Calling Cards section at Telluride. It was nominated for Best Live Action Short at the Canadian Screen Awards, and was awarded Best Canadian Short Film at TIFF. His subsequent film TWELVE HOURS premiered at TIFF (2021) and won Gold in the ’No Logo’ category at Ciclope (2021). In 2022, Paul participated in the Torino ScriptLab with his debut feature IMPORT. This film is now in late stage development with OPC as an international co-production starring NBA champion Iman Shumpert, and has secured funding from international film funds including Telefilm and the CNC aide aux cinema du monde.
Paul has delved into commercial filmmaking as a special projects director. Recent highlights include co-writing and directing an award-winning campaign for Action Canada, which won a Silver in the ‘Low Budget’ category at Ciclope; a Budweiser doc piece exploring male loneliness, and his branded film OTHERS for Casey House which shortlisted for Direction at the Cannes Lions (2023) before cleaning up at award shows globally.
