Freedom to think, to choose, to view the world and appreciate the people around for the way they are no matter from where they come or who they are,to practice what I believe in with all my heart, to pursue a life worth living, to take care of myself and my family, to unlearn and relearn beliefs because as humans we are life long learners, to speak up when things go really wrong and to re-invent myself every other day - all was possible since I kept watering my roots as my wings continue to grow.
Adapting the good qualities of both sides of the world and continue practicing it is possible only if you choose not to lose yourself in the process. As time passes, I realize the larger portion of the person I am becoming, I will be forever indebted to India, West Bengal.
Today marks the 80th Independence Day for India and this year feels incredibly special because the future of the country recently took a brave step and fought for their well deserved right to education and won - glad with this step my people and my motherland reclaimed their voice and glory back. During this entire protest even I felt a sigh of relief and courage because a win for my people in the right direction gives me hope that the world can still exercise their freedom to bring an impactful change when the leadership actions becomes questionable.
One step at a time - in times of performative display of achievements, I hope my motherland continues to inspire the world with her raw and true talents.
