I am sad to hear about the passing of Brad Searl. My condolences go out to his family, friends and to everyone that loved him. I met him many years ago when he was in one of my favourite local bands PUNISHMENT. He was one of my favourite local rockstars. I always loved his voice and thought that he was so talented. I went to a bunch of shows but the one that sticks out was downtown. I never been to that club, vlogged from there and then after the show I got to come back stage because he said “I was with the band”. We all had a lot of fun that night and partied on a rooftop. I was new to the city and that one of the firsts as a vlogger that I experienced that made my life so great.
I also after that they started getting some traction as a band. One night I was in the parking lot of Rock n Roll Heaven on O’Conner and my friend started freaking out when she was in her car and turned her radio all the way up and yelled “Its Punishment “ I ran over to her car, and we both started singing and dancing in the parking lot. This was the first time in my life that I knew a band that was on the radio!
I will always be thankful to him to all the memories and music. I will always be a big fan of his talent. Their poster is still on my wall of fame at my shop. I will be raising a glass in his honor tonight 🥂
