Toronto’s music scene just lost one of its most storied venues. The Dakota Tavern was more than a bar—it was a stage where artists shaped their sound, including Serena Ryder, who played some of her most intimate shows there.

Her performance at the Dakota was featured in City Sonic, our series about musicians and the places that made them.

🎥 Watch Serena Ryder at the Dakota on our YouTube channel!

A huge loss for Toronto’s music community. Share your favorite Dakota memories below. 🎶💔

The Fluid team is so sad to hear of primatologist Frans De Waal’s passing. He was such an important scientific voice and lovely human…making connections between primate and human behaviour that showed we aren’t all that different. He was so generous with our researchers and crew as a contributor to our recent production Fluid: Life Beyond the Binary. Rest In Peace Frans.

We’re excited to announce that Kensington TV is producing a new one-hour doc for CBC’s The Nature of Things featuring popular Canadian standup comic/actor Mae Martin! Fluid explores the science of gender and sexual fluidity. This is not your standard fare science program!

Fluid is a documentary the world really needs right now. It will debunk dangerous presumptions with fascinating recent breakthroughs that show how and why gender fluidity exists – discoveries that reveal that in a very real and measurable sense… we are all gender fluid.

We’re thrilled to be teaming up with a great creative team on a new doc for CBC’s The Nature of Things! Fluid is currently in production with veteran director Michelle Mama , DP Lulu Wei and Camera Nico Stagias , writers Allen Booth and Mae Martin, and producer Robert Lang.
