Smidley new single “LOVE IN EVERY DIRECTION” is out now everywhere. On the track he says: "This song is about me being a bratty little fu**er, not in a fun way. More specifically it’s about me bucking the love and joy given so freely by the people in my life in favor of aimless ambition and the subsequent disappointment that always follows. Something very special happened from the conception of this song to this day. Along the way, I was forced to contradict the very thing I wrote it about. From everyone who wrote it with me to everyone who worked on the recording to the team who put out the thing, it really became impossible to ignore the love. The video was shot on the tour we just did with Lucy. Simply put, that s**t ruled. Wil really caught some purest joy we’ve ever experienced on video. I love this song. But more than the song, I love the time in between writing the last word of the lyrics to this day here. It’s been a gift. Thanks for listening."

Out everywhere today, it’s a classic Janky tune: backed by shimmering lap steel, gentle guitar, rolling bass & some delicious group harmonies, he delivers a love-song for those short-term trysts, owning his flaws & laying it all out on the table.
