Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Night Sea is a French-American duo exploring the spectrum between ambient, dub and techno since 2016. Their music focuses on the hypnotic and meditative experience of sound, combining textural atmospheres and subtle dub rhythms into an entrancing haze. The duo has released on labels like Silent Season and Oslated and have performed at events like Mutek SF, Mostra Barcelona, Endzeit and Earthling. Very pleased to welcome Amsterdam’s Stefan Vincent to Aquaregia with this highly diverse acid EP, titled Until Meaning Emerges, arriving September 18th 📡

The EP opens with “Soothing the Beast”, an alluring polyrhythmic acid stepper with squelching 303 and crisp halftime breaks, where interference resolves into coherence. “Full Scope” then slows the pulse down with a chilled-out, growling acid line that moves with a gravitational weight. On the flipside, “Degauss” reboots the system with a high-octane acid techno tool; a recursive groove spiraling deeper into the network. “Paranoid Origin” closes the release with a euphoric final ascent, layering breaks, melodic arpeggios and shimmering fragments that dissolve into open air.

UK DJ and producer Eusebeia makes his Aquaregia debut with Critical Impact, a four-track EP drawing on the house, techno and trance records that shaped him in the 90s and early 2000s. Bass-heavy and cosmic in atmosphere, the record moves through dark electro, evolving trance and driving techno, with flashes of acid running throughout. Eusebeia’s low-end instincts, honed in drum & bass, give each track a heaviness and punch that hits hard on the floor, as his synth work draws us up into the cosmos.

Available at your favourite record shops worldwide this week: A warehouse find of 100 copies, 747’s Paleo gets a second chance at the hands it deserves. One of Aquaregia’s most essential records, with lost copies finally back in circulation. Originally released in 2018, the Canadian producer’s first long-player spans eight tracks of diverse acid on a time-travelling trip through geological history, spanning prehistoric landscapes, roiling subaquatic vulcanism and the deep pull of ancient seas. A vinyl-exclusive D side closes out the journey.
