Important Update: It’s been a very sad month for our South Coast family. Our beloved long time legendary server and friend to all Barb passed after a hard fought battle, and our bartender Jami and her daughter Brooklyn, who is also our hostess experienced a sudden and tragic loss with the passing of her husband and Brooklyns stepfather Jake. Sadly, our good friend and dishwasher extraordinaire Mauro’s father succumbed after a lengthy illness as well. First of all I wanted to extend my deepest condolences to them and their entire families and our entire South Coast family as well. We are so fortunate to have long time employees, employees who have become more than friends, they’re truly family. We work together, we play together, we socialize together, we celebrate together, and regretfully, in this instance, we mourn together. We feel the same about our customers, and we know that many of you are saddened as well. So many of you have shared with us in these losses, and we extend our condolences to you. Our beloved Barb’s family will be hosting a celebration of life for Barb at the Crystal Ridge Community Centre next Saturday the 1st and as such, we have decided to close for the day to allow our staff to be there for each other. To share stories, to laugh, to grieve, to support each other, to lean on each other and to remember those who we have lost who have made South Coast so special and have had an impact on us all in so many ways. We encourage those who wish to celebrate Barbs memory to join us as well.
