The Deadline for submitting for the Millman Student Essay prize is just a couple of days away.

A prize of $500.00 is offered for the best essay in English or French in Canadian church history written in the 2021-2023 academic years by a graduate student enrolled at a Canadian university. The funding for this award is made possible by the Thomas R. Millman Endowment Fund. For the purposes of this award, a graduate student is any student work on a post-baccalaureate degree.

All essays submitted will be considered for possible publication in the Journal of the Canadian Church Historical Society.

Essays may deal with any aspect of Canadian church history and should not exceed 7500 words in length, be double-spaced, and conform to the Chicago Manual of Style (16th edition – notes/bibliography format). Recent issues of the Journal may prove helpful in selecting subjects for the essay. The deadline for submission is August 31, 2024. Submissions should include a brief c.v.

Submissions should be sent electronically to Dr. Thomas Power: [email protected]

The Canadian Church Historical Society’s 2024 Millman Prize Essay Contest offers a $500 award to the best graduate‑level essay on Canadian church history (2021–2023) in English or French.
