I shared a story on my wall today about a woman who got a job at almost eight months pregnant, and honestly, that’s one of the many reasons I love Canada 🇨🇦.

In Canada, once you are qualified for a job and medically fit, pregnancy is not a reason for an employer to say no. Your skills, experience, and competence come first. Being pregnant is not seen as a weakness or a problem.

I remembered how different it was back home. Some employers would get angry if a woman was pregnant before employment.

In fact, they would even ask, “Are you pregnant?” just to use it as a reason to disqualify her because they were already thinking about maternity leave instead of her ability to work. This particular question was asked by one hospital i applied for years back.

Here in Canada, such discrimination does not exist. You do not deny a woman a job simply because she is pregnant. Pregnancy is protected, respected, and treated with dignity.
This is what fairness looks like. And this is why so many of us appreciate the system here.

When you walk into a store, where do you go first?
Do you check the price-drop or clearance section before anything else?

How do you know if the discounted items match what’s already on your shopping list?

Don’t you think checking price drops first helps you save money and avoid buying overpriced items you don’t really need?

Lets share our experiences,we want to learn from you.

The other day, I went to the store to buy a few things. As I was approaching the entrance, I met an elderly man pushing a cart filled with groceries. Beside him was his grandson he looked to be about 18 or 20 years old.

Immediately, I had a flashback to where I was coming from. Back home, it would be expected that the young man walking beside his grandfather would be the one pushing the cart. It wouldn’t even be a question. That’s how we were raised young people help, especially when an elder is involved.
But here, the reality is different. The culture is different.

Here, many people like doing things on their own, even at an old age. Sometimes, when you offer to help, they almost feel sad like you’re questioning their capability. It’s as if they’re saying, “Just because I’m old doesn’t mean I can’t do things for myself.”

You’ll see elderly people aged beautifully going for groceries, carrying out their errands, living independently, and with so much dignity. And honestly, it gives me joy seeing all of this.
I’m grateful that I came to a country where I get to experience different cultures and different perspectives.

There’s a certain gratification in witnessing it all.

Happy weekend good people

If you are in Canada and you’re in the healthcare field—especially nursing as an internationally educated nurse whose license is still under review or processing.

While this is in progress, you can strengthen your profile by doing First Aid and BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.

You can then use your international nursing certificate, along with these certifications, to apply for health-related jobs such as care aide or other support roles in healthcare.

It is not advisable to go for PSW training while waiting for your nursing license, because once you get licensed, that PSW training becomes unnecessary.

If the price of yam is dealing with you in your city in Canada, just buy regular potatoes (the ones used for mashed potatoes) and cook a delicious porridge with them with a touch of sent leaf, crayfish and redoil.

Honestly, nobody will even notice it’s not yam it looks and tastes very similar like new baby yam 😆 😂

Content creation is paying on Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok.

People are earning from views, brand deals, digital products, and even simple consistency. And the best part? It doesn’t have to replace your job. It can start as a side hustle.

You don’t need perfect equipment.
You don’t need to know everything.
You just need to start with what you know and what you already do.

Someone out there is searching for information you already have. Someone needs your experience, your story, your voice.

So let me ask you

What are you still waiting for?
Is content creation something you’re finally going to try this year or will you keep watching others do what you could have started?

What are your fears about content creation

What immigrants and newcomers need to know about money.

Relocating to a new country doesn’t mean your money worries disappear. For many immigrants, money becomes tighter at the beginning.

First, your income may look good on paper, but expenses are high. Rent, taxes, transportation, childcare, and food add up quickly. Without a budget, money finishes faster than expected.

Second, credit matters more than cash. Your credit history affects where you live, the phone you use, the car you drive, and sometimes even job opportunities. Start building credit early and protect it carefully.

Third, your first job may not pay what you hoped for. Many newcomers start small while finding their footing. This phase is temporary, but only if you manage your money wisely.

Fourth, emergency savings are imp
ortant. Hours can be cut, jobs can change, and unexpected bills happen. Savings give you stability and options.

Fifth, avoid lifestyle pressure. Many people appear to be doing well, but a lot of things are paid monthly. Don’t rush into debt trying to “look settled.”

A new country can change your life but only if you understand how money works there.

A big shoutout to my friend in the U.S.A 🇺🇸 who sent me these amazing pictures from NASA when they visited.

NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) is the U.S. space agency responsible for exploring space, studying planets, and advancing science and technology.
These pictures show the incredible work NASA does in:
* Studying Earth and climate
* Exploring space and distant galaxies
* Launching rockets and spacecraft
* Using satellites to understand our universe

It’s amazing to see science and human curiosity come alive through these images!

Question for you, If you had the chance, would you travel to space? ehh 😜 🤔 😉
