Lately, I’ve noticed that my kids have developed a serious love for animals even the tiniest creatures like spiders, lady bugs,, anything that moves. 😅
If they see me trying to kill any insect in the house, they will immediately start begging, “Mommy please don’t kill it, it’s a living thing!”
At this point, even ordinary house spider has full human rights in my home. 😂

But yesterday took everything to another level.

We were having dinner, and the food was made with goat meat. Then my son suddenly became emotional and said:

“Ohhh I’m so sorry, goat. I’m sorry that you died. I have to eat you, but I don’t have any other option… you are my meat.”

I just looked at him like😳 😆 🤣

One of the biggest culture shocks I’ve experienced here in Canada is how quiet the roads are. Honestly, I can’t remember the last time I heard a car horn on the street and main road. Back home in Nigeria, horn is literally part of the soundtrack of everyday life.
Pim pim!
Pa pa!
Whether it’s warning, greeting, frustration, or just “shift small,” horn is always talking.

But here in Canada?
You will hardly hear anything. The roads are so calm that if you ever hear a horn, just know something serious must have happened. Either you made a mistake, didn’t notice something, or someone needs to urgently communicate with you.

Every time I’m driving and if i hear even a small “beep,” my heart instantly jumps because it’s that rare. Culture shock is real.

Am I the only one that still hasn’t started using their dishwasher to wash plates?
Yesterday (Saturday), I was washing plates with my kids. I washed, my son rinsed, and my daughter arranged everything in the right places. Teamwork, right?

Then out of nowhere my daughter asked,
“Mommy, why are we not even using the dishwasher?”

I just smiled and told her, “For now, I want you both to learn how to wash plates with your hands. Be confident in it. Because in life, there are times you may not have something, and if you don’t know how to do it the basic way, you can get stranded.”

I want them to understand the foundation first. The dishwasher is there, but I don’t want to rely on it before they even learn the skill. Let them master how to wash plates properly, so that even in the future if there’s no dishwasher or something happens they won’t be helpless.

Sometimes as parents, it’s not about suffering them, it’s about teaching them life skills that will help them anywhere they find themselves.

What do you do in this kind of situation if you have kids less than 7years old.

“Hi, everyone, So today is Sunday, and I’m wishing you a very happy Sunday. Enjoy yourself and your family. Remember that no matter how the week has been, today is a fresh start.

Take a moment to rest, breathe, and be grateful. Surround yourself with peace, show love, and let joy fill your home. Have a blessed and beautiful Sunday.”

Ruth Chitor Chukwuji posted something about an air fryer today, and it immediately took me back to last year. My husband actually bought an air fryer then, and honestly, I didn’t even know how to use it. I told him to return it and get a juicer instead so we could be making fresh juice.

But later on, I decided to learn how it works… and ever since then, my dear, that air fryer has been a complete game changer in my kitchen.

I use it almost every day. There’s practically nothing I don’t make with it. I’ve stopped deep frying meat, I’ve stopped using too much oil the air fryer just makes everything easier, cleaner, and even healthier.

My air fryer has become one of my best kitchen companions.

What was that thing you thought wasn't important but later became a game changer for you.

There is this special peace of mind you get as a mother when you go shopping alone. Ever since my kids resumed school, every Friday after dropping them off, I quickly rush to the store to buy things for the week. And honestly, that quiet moment is everything.

Shopping alone just hits differently. You move freely, think clearly, pick exactly what you want, and even remember everything on your list. Nobody is shouting “Mommy, I want this! Mommy, buy me that!” No confusion… just peace.

But last week, I didn’t get the chance to shop on Friday. So we all went together during the weekend. And as expected distractions everywhere. I was supposed to buy my minced beef for meat pie, but in the middle of “Mommy please,” “Mommy look,” and “Mommy carry me,” I mistakenly picked chicken instead. The meat pie didn’t even come out like the usual one. 😩

Now I shop in peace with my little baby who has not started the drama.

Hello mamas, daddies, uncles and aunties who can relate ???

How Having Family in Canada Can Boost Your Immigration Chances

Many people don’t know that having a close family member (a citizen or permanent resident) in Canada can actually give you an advantage when applying for permanent residency. But to succeed, you also need to complete other important steps. Here’s how 👇

✅ Step 1: Confirm Your Family Connection

Make sure your family member is a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident. This connection can give you extra points or help with nomination under some provincial programs.

✅ Step 2: Write Your English Test

Take a recognized test such as IELTS or CELPIP. Your language score is one of the most important factors for approval.

✅ Step 3: Get Your Education Assessed

Apply for an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) to verify your school certificates and degrees are recognized in Canada.

✅ Step 4: Gather Work Experience

The more relevant work experience you have, the stronger your application will be. Skilled work in demand is a big plus.

✅ Step 5: Meet Financial Requirements

Some programs may require you to show proof of funds to support yourself when you first arrive.

✅ Step 6: Apply Through the Right Program

Your options include:

Express Entry or federal skilled workers program

Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs)

Create express entry profile input all the details, then there is an option that ask you if you have a family member living in Canada, clicking yes to it gives you some point that boost your school for permanent residency.

Secondly a family member can invite you as a visitor but visitors are not eligible to work in Canada.Other route is school but not cheap

Remember a family member can't just bring you to canada or find work in your name, through express entry you will only indicate you have a family member in canada.

Having a savings on your name is important because you will also proof you can take care of yourself in Canada 🇨🇦

Please share 🙏 🙂 ☺️
