This morning, we joined over 240 Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU) Local 249 members on strike at at Central West Specialized Development Services advocating for safer working conditions for staff and the individuals they support.

Tell Patricia Kyle and her Board of Directors it’s time to end unsafe working conditions, compensate workers fairly, and get people home NOW!

Injured workers and advocates had many questions for Minister Piccini today about Ontario’s workers’ compensation system, at the annual holiday rally.

Why are workers injured on the job forced into poverty?
Why is workers’ compensation cut off arbitrarily at the age of 65? Why are migrant workers kicked out of the country after being injured on the job despite paying into benefits?

Piccini didn’t show up for injured workers. But labour and community did.”

Everyone deserves access to decent work that is safe, reliable, and inclusive public services – no exception.

JOINT RELEASE: School violence is rising... and Ontario’s students and staff are being put at risk.

OSSTF/FEESO and OSBCU - CSCSO are urging the provincial government to work with unions, frontline education workers, and parents to make schools safer and properly staffed.

“The crisis of violence is getting worse. There are not enough qualified adults in classrooms to meet student needs." - OSSTF/FEESO President Martha Hradowy.

Ontario does not need more advisory groups. We need real investments in the people who keep students safe.
