The Beautification Project by Lorraine Mendoza-Nolasco (inspired by this voicemail from her late father Reynaldo Mendoza)

I call this journey The Beautification Project. It’s a story of how, by God’s grace, an ordinary girl like me, has chosen to pursue extraordinary dreams to Beautify her life through the means of a digital business. This term was coined by my late father, a man with a Beautiful soul, who helped me understand how precious time was. He never failed to stop what he was doing just to give his loved ones time and attention. ❤️ His nickname for me was “Beauty,” so I, in turn, called him “Beasty,” which was inspired by my favourite Disney classic. 🌹 My dad was hilarious and full of sunshine. ☀️ He made up his own silly vocabulary like “Lo Heh” instead of “Hello,” “I mesh you” instead of “I miss you, “Bessie” instead of “Busy,” and “Ta ke Car Re” instead of “Take Care.” He always knew how to make me laugh. 😂 Anyway, because of his play on words, my dad’s nickname for me evolved from “Beauty” to “Beautification Project,” which eventually became just “Project” for short. That is why this voicemail starts off with him calling me that. This was one of the many voice messages he left me back when I was too busy working and too tired to call him back after my shifts. 😔 I felt so much guilt for not having spent as much time as I could with my father when he was still alive because I was too focused on my career. The Lord has answered my prayer for a breakthrough by showing me that I don’t have to keep struggling and juggling multiple jobs, but that there’s a way to earn without missing out on precious time with loved ones. That’s why this business is dedicated to my Beloved father. I hope I make him proud and that I get to inspire many people the way he has done with his time here on earth. On this exact day last year, we surprised our family with the news of my pregnancy. This was the only Christmas my father and my son got to share together even though they weren’t able to meet each other. We wish our Tatay was here to enjoy the festivities with us, but we trust that the celebration above is even more spectacular than the celebration here below. Merry Christmas Tay!
