Happy Anniversary!

Today marks 90 years since Abbey Road officially opened as the world’s first purpose-built recording studio - 90 years of enabling and recording the music makers who defined each generation. We’re always grateful to everyone who has stepped into our house to create, play, dream and share the joy of making music.

In honour of our 90th birthday, we’ve adorned the wall with a few familiar faces of the people who have made the studios just so special across the decades.

If you’re heading to the Canadian National Exhibition this week, check out the Music Building - it has a railway connection! The Railway Building opened in time for the 1907 fair and was used to showcase rail travel and achievements in transportation. The building was divided into three exhibit spaces to showcase Canada’s three major railways: Canadian Pacific, Grand Trunk, and Canadian Northern. After World War 2, the railways moved out. The building remains on the grounds and was renamed the Music Building in 1968.
