Right, so he we are; a solar year later after has left and joined the Spirit world. Another moody overcast day similar to the day we had to say goodbye to you from this plain. Losing a soul dog is exceptionally challenging but knowing that Canela has been here before and will again in a new life journey makes her current absence a bit more manageable.

What makes her not being here difficult is how much meaning, support and weight her old soul held for us - and the many she met along the way. It's incalculable. Nena understood and transferred her knowledge and uncanny ability to liven or comfort any moment to whomever needed it. I'm so grateful for her; she instilled so much of that compassion & understanding and taught me to be more patient with myself and those around me. I'm grateful she left that knowledge in this journey to allow for growth, empathy & wisdom - it has not only helped me understand her absence but allowed for prioritizing what is important. May the bridges you burned this year continue to guide your path forward - or back if you want to watch it all burn. Fire despite its destructive path also allows for renewal and provides the ecosystem for new life cycles and opportunities so don't look at everything as a catastrophe. We all need a little chaos to reflect and appreciate the bounty & blissful moments.

Despite having positive moments and milestones, 2024 has been nothing less than a colossal piece of 💩 but I remain mildly optimistic as I begin a new cycle around our celestial ☀️ - I genuinely hope this new cycle brings you all joy, calm & health.

Real talk: I was recently shamed for wearing a jockstrap under my SPINAL pants I wore for this year's record-breaking . A cause and role I not only hold as important but sacred. I have welcomed becoming an elder within the community that has seen the decimation of Q***r elders wiped clear off this plain.

It's not news that I'm exceptionally vocal on how I value diverse genders, cultures, identities, denominations, sexualities, kinks & fe**shes and champion for those who often don't have opportunities for their voices to be heard.

This year, with my outfit, I wanted to honour the importance and cultural significance the leather & fe**sh culture plays in Q***r history. Particularly, its importance in the Gay Liberation movement and the weight it still carries at the height of the AIDS Epidemic in the 80s & 90s. This year's long trench, harem silhouette pants complimented with a leather and kink spin to them is my nod to the 90s. The 90s was also the decade that tied us so closely with the campaign and I wanted to hold space for the millions we've lost due to HIV/AIDS.

Sexuality and identity are important human characteristics and it's embarrassing for colonial systems and those that consciously & unconsciously support them to shame others for them. For what? Because you're uncomfortable seeing others living and existing in their most comfortable selves? Because you feel insecure about what others wear? I wear things because I look fantastic in them; I wear things to be noticed, to be admired and complimented.

Garments, weaving & pieces of clothing are part of our identities, cultural histories and for some; have been gifted to us by Celestial Bodies 🪶🌙. Whatever and however YOU want to wear - wear them. Next time you want to wear a jockstrap or thong, feel great and show them off - I support it, encourage it actually.

Raising $1.5 million - and counting. We've surpassed our initial goal to raise $1.5 million to support initiatives and investments in Canada’s HIV response.

It's unbelievable being part of a community that really shows up for one another. The entire CANFAR team, in-community organizations, sponsors including all partners, should be absolutely proud of themselves for the dedication, financial support, outreach and meaningful differences you all make in the lives of so many.

This is one of the most successful (and I feel, most fun) Bloor Street Entertains galas and we've all earned this amazing achievement.

Happy birthday to ! Sometimes celestial forces moves things and people in and out of the life for various reasons; having has Nicky as childhood friends and as one of the many hoodrat neighbourhood kids wreaking havac all over Corso Italia I'm so so grateful for having you and I show up for one another in our lives. Having community or gay friends that understand the Q***r experience is so special and I hope that we you continue to celebrate your most authentic awesome self Nicky! Your Class of 2024 Prom King and Queen 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Joking aside hosted it's first that brought together the city's leaders, innovators, and taste makers in beauty, fashion, and wellness to drive an open conversation about mental health. The event raised funds for the and its critical work in mental health advocacy.

Very grateful for ppl like where we always discuss our genuine mental health challenges, strategies and support one another by just talking about sh*t that's nagging away at us 💖

Candid and tasty shots from the launch of ' new King St. location, situated in the heart of the financial district.

We heard from champion and Executive Director of Culinary at JOEY, on the food stations (King fire-roasted seafood tower 🤤😵) and premium menu items like this massive tomahawk 🥩 paired with their notoriously famous fully loaded crispy mashed potatoes & seasonal vegetables 🤤🤤

The largest JOEY's I've ever been to, clocking in at 19,000 sq ft. for a 550-person capacity! The ground-floor space features 30-foot ceilings, a focal bar area, actual trees and intimate seating areas scattered throughout the space. An ideal spot for post-work cocktails; everyday & private dining experiences and of course private events!

We really did it y'all! The community broke a ! Thank to the help of so many we're the Guinness World Records™ Official Record Holder for the most awareness ribbons made in one hour by a team!

This effort was an attempt to bring the community together and raise further public awareness about HIV and AIDS in Canada, and to honour World AIDS Day, coming up on December 1st.

The previous record to break was 5,471 ribbons. Our goal was to make 7,540 red ribbons—one for each person diagnosed with HIV in Canada but not yet on treatment. We're all so pleased to announce that, as a community, we made a total of 11,255 red ribbons in that hour 🎀🥹🎀
