So I’ve been on a money mindset journey for quite some time and my kids have gotten used to me with the way I think, I talk and do things. Today when I picked up my little girl, I was so amused because upon seeing me, she jumped up and blurted out, “Wow! My mommy is rich! You’re rich because you have a lot of golden things on you, Mom!” And my, was she proud of me! Haha! I was a bit embarrassed but hey, if that’s how my daughter sees me, so be it! I receive.
Something I refrain from telling my kids is, “We can’t afford that.” I instead say, “We’re not buying that because we have other priorities.” This way, we do away with the energy of lack. It’s programming our minds that the money IS THERE but our priority for now is buying the essentials. See the difference?
Took me some time to get used to this practice because I was hardwired with a scarcity mindset since childhood - which I am actively working on not passing on to my kids. Give it a try and see how it goes. Cheers!
