β€œI think about [physical literacy] as a gateway or a fundamental determinant of physical activity and a synthesis construct that brings together psychological elements. So we talk about competence and confidence to be physically active. We also talk about motor skills, fundamental movement skills that are required to be physically active and the knowledge to act on those embodied experiences that arise from motor competence, motivation and confidence. Some people, and I would be one of them, also include a social element to it as well.
So one of the ways we often think about physical literacy is movement experiences where there is an opportunity to develop confidence and competence in one’s abilities, done in front of others and with others.”
