MANIC JUICE VOL. 2 IS FINALLY HERE! 😱 After 5 long years in the making, the second tape/zine combo from MJR is available for purchase, featuring 10 original songs of various genres by 6 different artists. Limited to 50 copies, each hand numbered package comes with a sticker, a deluxe printed cassette tape (one of two colours - blue/green glitter OR red/gold glitter chosen at random), and the zine itself, which features write-ups for each artist appearing on this release. Holy smokes, it's been a while. 5 years since the last zine? what the f@$k. That wasn't really the plan... maybe I'll just release a zine every 5 years now. Consistency... The first zine I put out is really embarrassing... It seems I tried too hard to give something structure that should really have been formless. I don't want to make that same mistake again, so for this issue, I just want to talk about the artists that I've shafted when I told them Manic Juice Vol. 2 would be out 'very soon' - 5 years ago.

In the summer of 2019, I challenged myself to put out 6 releases by 6 different artists before the ever quickly approaching fall season... What we are left with is 5 releases between 6 artists - an A-side/B-side collection of singles from musicians scattered across the globe... Now here for the first time ever, these tracks can be enjoyed in inferior quality but with much nicer packaging on cassette tape. This is MJR Vol. 2. I hope you enjoy it.

To all the artists featured on this compilation tape, I'm sorry this project took so long to come to fruition... but they say good things come to those who wait...

The debut EP "Caught Half Alive" by Canadian artist is available for the first time on physical media. After a collaboration with Manic Juice, this heartfelt bedroom folk album can now be enjoyed on "Digital Vinyl" style CD-R and Cassette Tape, featuring a previously unreleased bonus track. The physical merch items come with extensive liner notes and a complete lyrics booklet. There are very limited quantities available on our website - it is encouraged you purchase directly from the artist in person at shows or through contact at zackelliottmusic.com

Now to get sappy; Zack and I grew up in the same small town and hung out a couple times through our mutual friends. The last time I saw him we were probably 13 years old. At that age I saw no signs that he would become the folk playing guitar virtuoso that he is today. We reconnected recently and I was completely blown away by what I saw and heard. I was ecstatic and jumped at the opportunity to work together on a project. I am eternally grateful to Zack for all the coffee meetups, late night phone calls, and putting up with my tardiness with deadlines. It's been an honour and a weird feeling of coming full circle working with you, and I look forward to any collaboration in the future. Cheers mate,

Mondo's long awaited EP "Taking Up Space" began production in late 2018. After playing in various basement bands and releasing 4 self-produced albums and EPs, Mondo has teamed up with Toronto producer Mike D'Arolfi (GoodKid, Jeremie Albino) for his first professionally recorded endeavor - which explores personal and revealing topics such as depression, addiction, and heartbreak - that offer an honest insight into the darkest skeletons in his closet. Available on all streaming platforms (bandcamp link in bio for merch - a spotify link will also be accessible through bandcamp)
