Chief engineer Doug McClement just returned from five weeks in Paris. He was supervising English Commentary for the host broadcaster, Olympic Broadcast Services (OBS). Here's a backstage view of a couple of the OBS control rooms at the International Broadcast Center

Got a call last Wednesday from the NHL asking if I was available to fly to Edmonton the next morning to mix concerts by Our Lady Peace and Shania Twain for the pre-game show for Games 3 and 4 of the Stanley Cup Final. They set me up in the trailer that delivered the jib camera, with an Avis S6L console and a pair of speakers. I was soundchecking OLP two hours after I landed in Edmonton. But we pulled it off, and the NHL, Sportsnet and the band's management were very happy with the mix. At least for Shania we had a setup day.

Day 3 of the Canada's Got Talent Finale shoot at the OLG Stage at Fallsview Casino in Niagara Falls. With my good friend, Musical Director Orin Isaacs. Orin is Canada's top MD, having had that role for Canadian Idol, The Juno Awards, The Legacy Awards, CBC New Year's Eve, Big Brother, Canada Day on Pariliament Hill, and The Launch.

Set up today for the "Adore" Christian Music concert featuring Joni Lamb and the Daystar Singers tomorrow at the new Canada Event Centre in Whitby. Using the dual 64 track portable Protools rig set up in a room backstage, fed via MADI from the Dome video mobile. One of my former students, Harris grad Myles Carlyle is the A1 in the Dome truck.

Recorded the ASD Band with a 27 piece orchestra at the Toronto Congress Centre tonight with the portable rig. First time using the SSL C-SB 48 channel mic pre rack at the stage with remote control of all parameters via serial>fibre optic>serial interface and custom app for PC/PuTTY program designed by Tristan Miller from Catherine North Studios in Hamilton. Worked great. 64 track Protools rig backed up by 64 track Tascam DA-6400 MADI recorder.
