Life goes on. We plan, we move ahead, and we expect things to happen. Yet, destiny may throw something to us that is not planned or expected. It is the measure of one’s character when we are able to chart a sound course with love, understanding, courage and wisdom.

It is time to ask for wisdom in the political life of US citizens. The world continues to look to the US as the example of freedom and values. If the example fails to address key problems, like destructive polarization, gun laws, wage disparity, medical systems, and justice dispensation, it may give credence to the accusation that the best days of the US are over.

The West has gone far enough in liberalism that has been eroding moral values. In my view, this is the wrong way to safeguard against current terrorism. Fortunately, there may be signs of the push back by social conservatives as long as they do not allow extreme right wing forces to flourish.
