What’s your prompt-lem?! It’s all about the prompt-engineering these days. We created some fun and creative AI art at Akoma Camp this year! Here are some highlights from our STEM program.

It was a delight to teach the Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math program at Akoma Camp this year. This program is a much needed space where BIPOC students engage in a wide spectrum of culturally expansive summer programing for grades 3-8.

The (YCDS) in association with the Brother St. Andre Catholic School has recognized a pressing need to provide programming for BIPOC youth and what a fun and engaging way to do it 😊

Our Program:
Termed ‘Heart of the Village’, our program was an introductory course teaching students the fundamentals of XR, AI and WebXR production from a West African perspective based on the Adinkra principles of community building.

The students learned:
- Basic webxr coding
- VR learning immersions
- Fundamentals of world building
- How to create their own ‘Heart of the village’ virtual world
- Team building exercises
- AR experience creation

Special thanks to Saran James-Vaughan who coordinated the program and to Centre of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (COIE) for their in-kind sponsorship and support! Here’s to building an equitable and future-forward generation via STEAM!

I’m thrilled to share that “A Christmas Carol: VR” has been nominated for the 10th Raindance Immersive Film Festival, running June 6–29, 2025! ✨

For the past three years, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to collaborate remotely with the visionary team at Agile Lens and Alex Coulombe, bringing this boundary-pushing, live synchronous VR theatre production to life.

This isn’t just any adaptation, it’s a genre-defying virtual reimagining of Dickens’ classic tale, combining live performance, virtual reality, and cinematic storytelling. I’m honoured to lend both my voice and VR performance to the iconic four ghosts: Past, Present, Future, and Marley. 👻💫

Congratulations to all the nominees, the future of immersive storytelling is bright and bold! 🌟 If you’re attending , don’t miss this hauntingly beautiful holiday experience.

🌟 Honoured to be a guest speaker at Richmond High School’s Equity Symposium, where I presented:
“Future-Ready: Mastering Digital Citizenship, AI Ethics & Media Practices.”

We explored how students can build meaningful, responsible, and empowered digital lives by understanding:

✅ The power + responsibility of digital citizenship
🤖 The ethical use of AI as a tool, not a threat
🎯 How your online presence shapes your future
🌍 Why equity in digital spaces matters for everyone

I closed with a message I truly believe:
💡 “Digital citizenship = power + responsibility.”
💬 “Everyone deserves and needs equity.”
📱 “Your digital presence is a preview of your future.”
🛠️ “AI is your tool — use it wisely!”

Deep thanks to educators, students, and organizers who made this possible. The future is in thoughtful, informed, and equitable hands. 🙌🏽✨

📍Spoke at Richmond Hill High School’s Equity Symposium on:
✨ “Future-Ready: Mastering Digital Citizenship, AI Ethics & Media Practices”

We talked real talk about:
🔹 Power + responsibility online
🔹 AI as a tool (not your enemy)
🔹 Owning your digital footprint
🔹 Centering equity in everything we do

I left them with this:
💬 Digital citizenship = power + responsibility
🌍 Everyone deserves and needs equity
📱 Your digital presence is a preview of your future
🤖 AI is your tool — use it wisely!

Grateful for the energy, questions, and brilliant minds in that room. 🧠🔥 The future is bright AND equitable. 🌟

🖤 Reimagining Black History & Afrofuturism with AI & XR! 🖤 🚀 Last week, my company Orion Digital Inc. in partnership with Saran James-Vaughan of Wellness by Saran had the privilege of bringing our BHM & Beyond workshop to Richmond Hill High School (YRDSB)! Students stepped beyond traditional narratives of Black history and into the future of storytelling, technology, and innovation!

What made this experience powerful?
Through Afrofuturism, AI, and XR (Extended Reality), students:
Learned about Black historical figures often left out of mainstream narratives
Explored the journey of Black Canadians—from early settlers and the era of enslavement to the civil rights movement and beyond.
Created AI-generated images of Black trailblazers
Built virtual museum spaces showcasing history, identity, and future possibilities
Explored Afrofuturism’s role in shaping culture and technology
What students had to say:

“We need more workshops like this. This was the best part of BHM at our school!”

“Learning about Afrofuturism made me realize that Black history isn’t just about the past—it’s about the future we create.

“Using AI to design avatars and museums made history feel alive and personal.”
Why this matters
This workshop proved that history isn’t just something we study—it’s something we build upon. By merging history with emerging technologies, students learn and actively shape narratives centred on representation, identity, and innovation.
Want to bring BHM & Beyond to your school, university, or organization? Let’s connect!
