Never send two Gujaratis to pick up Sunday nashta and expect everything to make it back untouched 😂

Fafda, gathiya, kadhi and chai… we were supposed to just pick it up for everyone, but quality control was obviously necessary.

Some Sunday mornings just feel incomplete without this ❤️

Raksha Bandhan in our family basically has five stages 😂

Everyone arrives, the house gets louder, the Rakhi ceremony happens, gifts come out, Gujarati lunch destroys all productivity… and then somehow the entire house goes silent for the mandatory post-lunch nap 😴❤️

Honestly, the nap might be the most predictable part of the whole day.

One thing I’ve realized about Indian events…

there’s almost always an event before the actual event. 😂

The baby shower was the next day, but a few of us were already at their place the night before.

Instead of tomorrow’s main event everyone was focused on the live dosa

and somehow the “casual dinner” starts feeling like a function of its own.

Honestly, I kind of love this part.

The big event is great…

but sometimes these smaller nights before it are where you actually get to sit, talk, laugh and spend time together.

Then you wake up the next morning and do it all over again. 😂

Sometimes it takes friends visiting from out of town to make you actually explore your own city 😂

Our friends were visiting from the U.S., so we spent the day wandering around Toronto’s Distillery District — country music, beers, food, random games, and of course gelato to finish it off 🍻🍨

Maybe we should play tourist in our own city more often.

Some friendships don’t need constant plans, calls or catching up.

One of my closest school friends moved to the U.S., came back to visit, and within a few minutes it felt like nothing had changed.

A quick Friday drink turned into backyard conversations, kids, dinner, momos and the kind of evening you wish lasted a little longer

That’s the thing about old friends — you just pick up where you left off.

Tag that one friend you can meet after months and it still feels exactly the same 👇

My wife has a plant problem… and somehow I’ve become the unpaid pickup, delivery and installation department 😂🌿

Every few weeks there’s another Facebook Marketplace plant she “absolutely needs.”

I drive there. Pick it up. Carry it home. Put it exactly where she tells me…

…and then she moves it two inches herself.

Perfect. Glad I could help 😂

Be honest — who’s the plant person in your relationship? And who’s doing all the carrying? 👇
