Leyton, as a singer, is best known for his hit song "Johnny Remember Me," which reached number one on the UK Singles Chart in August 1961 despite being banned by the BBC for its death references. His follow-up single, "Wild Wind", reached number two on the same chart. Alongside singing, Leyton's acting career saw him appearing in television and films throughout the 1960s. His films included The Great Escape, Guns at Batasi, Von Ryan's Express and Krakatoa and East of Java.

What began in 2012 in the former rehearsal space of Swiss rock legends Krokus has become one of the most thrilling acts in the Swiss rock scene today. Basement Saints capture the essence of classic rock'n'roll, soul, and blues with their blend of Hammond organ, guitar, and drums, reinterpreting it in a fresh way. Their impact has been recognized far beyond Switzerland’s borders: the band has toured Germany and Spain multiple times, earned praise from major magazines like Rock Hard, and their Song “Brother” was featured in a promotional trailer for a gaming console. Their performance at the Montreux Jazz Festival remains unforgettable. 🍁 Fons Jansen was born the fourth of five children into a musical family. From a young age, he was exposed to operas, operettas, concerts, theater, r***es, cabaret, and film. He was particularly impressed by the renowned clown Buziau and longed to attend drama school. After the occupation, Jansen became a newsreader for the ANP Radio News Service. However, he was soon called up for military service. He attended officer training at the Royal Military Academy in Breda. On May 6, 1962, "De lachende Kerk" premiered, a program in which Jansen satirized the Roman Catholic Church.

🧀Fons Jansen werd als vierde van vijf kinderen geboren in een muzikaal gezin. Fons Jansen kwam al op jonge leeftijd in aanraking met opera's, operettes, concerten, toneel, r***e, cabaret en film. Hij was vooral onder de indruk van de vermaarde clown Buziau en wilde graag naar de toneelschool. Na de bezetting kwam Jansen als nieuwslezer terecht bij de Radionieuwsdienst van het ANP. Al snel werd hij echter opgeroepen om zijn dienstplicht te vervullen. Hij volgde daartoe de officiersopleiding aan de Koninklijke Militaire Academie in Breda. Op 6 mei 1962 ging De lachende Kerk in première, een programma waarin Jansen de Rooms-Katholieke Kerk op de hak nam.

The SKBs began as a bucket-list project for friends and family — but a string of bizarre coincidences turned it into an international story. With Leon Cave on drums (Status Quo), Sara Davey (East Tennessee vocalist), Ronnie Miller (Texas Country Music Hall of Fame, worked with Dolly Parton and Charley Pride), “Eon” Robinson (blues guitar), Dave Ferguson (keys) and Al Sharp (bass/composer), the line-up blends classic rock, Americana, and country flair.

Released as the second single from their seventh studio album, Lament, on 11 May 1984, the single peaked at No. 3 on the UK singles chart and reached the top 10 in several European countries. The song also entered the Australian and Canadian top 75 but failed to chart in the US. According to lead singer Midge Ure, the lyrics were inspired by the Nevil Shute book On the Beach, which is about a group of people in Australia awaiting nuclear radiation stemming from a nuclear war in the Northern Hemisphere. "They knew it was the end, but they had time to think about how they wanted to choose their final moments", Ure stated, "And that’s what 'Dancing With Tears in My Eyes' was about."
