Excited to share some big news: BLACK ZOMBIE will have its World Premiere at 2026!

From the flickering screens of Hollywood horror to the haunted cane fields of colonial Haiti, BLACK ZOMBIE unearths the buried origins of the zombie, reclaiming it as a symbol of survival and spiritual resistance.

Thank you to all the collaborators, advisors, friends, and family who supported us through this journey. This project has been years in the making, and we can’t wait to share it with the world!

Our Story

Third Culture Media is an independent Canadian production company based in Toronto run by producing partners and BFFs Maya Annik Bedward and Kate Fraser. Maya and Kate met in 2013 when Kate signed on as a producer for THE FOREIGNER, Maya’s directorial debut. They became fast friends and connected over their shared professional backgrounds in community media programming and their short lived careers in arts funding. After backpacking through the Colombian Andes, wading through the Louisiana bayous and trekking through the rugged vineyards of Prince Edward County, they incorporated Third Culture Media Inc. Together they collaborate with their creative community to make entertaining and thought provoking work.
