Iโve worked in +50ยฐC desert heat and -45ยฐC brutal winter conditions.
But that was never the biggest challenge.
From the heat of the Middle East
to the harsh winters of Canadaโs oil sands,
the work came with long hours, high responsibility, and time away from family.
After 20+ years in engineering and project-based work, Iโve seen how projects end, contracts change, and priorities shift.
Even with a solid career, relying on one source of income can leave very little room for flexibility.
My wife and I also pursued and invested in other conventional businesses, including real estate, to diversify. She has worked in administration, education, and finance.
But like many traditional businesses and real estate investments, they require significant capital and come with cash flow pressure and market changes.
