NEWS FLASH! Thrilled to announce that Fearless Creative's rising star Semiah has just been nominated for a 2025 Dora Award for Outstanding Original Sound Composition! 🌟

Serendipitously, while the awards are being handed out on June 30th, Semiah will be spinning her magic on stage at the showcase at Toronto's Music Hall. 🎶

The recognition is for her work for 'Big Time Miss' and was a collaboration with her Montreal collaborator Jacob Vanderham aka , a producer, songwriter, and performance artist who creates music for film, theatre, and dance.

'Big Time Miss' is a surrealist dance theatre epic where funny people have to face unfunny feelings and rediscover what it means to be ambitious, soft, terrified and in love.

Very special brother sister rhythm section team featuring Maggie Yakorennio Powless-Lynes on keys & Uke and Nathan Powless-Lynes on Bass. Of course the effervescent and indomitable Semiah Smith on vocals and backing track production!

COMMUNITY CALL TO ACTION: to support our L.A. based friend and colleague Morgan Doctor in rebuilding her professional life after losing all her musical instruments and audio production gear in Altadena fires. Morgan is an award-winning drummer, composer, producer, musician and a kind and gentle human on this planet. She's played with Jill Barber, The Cliks, Amanda Rheaume, Chantal Kreviazuk, Feist, Ron Sexsmith, Danny Michel, Fefe Dobson, Tamara Williamson, Lily Frost & many more.

Her celebrated work in recording, touring, film composition and collaborative bands, exemplifies the dedication, talent and integrity of a self-employed creator who has earned every accolade and hard-won step towards arriving at an established career.

Unfortunately, when fires swept through Altadena they destroyed not only Morgan and her wife Ondi's home, but Morgan's entire studio. A lifetime of instruments and gear - some irreplaceable collectibles - disintegrated. Guitars, Drums, Bass, Percussion, Hang Drum, Microphones, External Processors, Monitors, Interface … gone. No equipment insurance. It's a shocking situation to process. A professional's tools and work environment are crucial for survival.

Morgan is a private person, and by her own admission, not the type to ask for help. With her permission, I'm calling on community to help replace her studio and live performance gear so she can eventually rebirth her career. Please consider sharing any small amount and/or the link. Many thanks.
