From our Comparative Diets Course
On June 14th, we hosted a virtual open house featuring IHN faculty member Sidney Shindle BA, CNP, with her lecture To Fast or Not to Fast: The Benefits & Limitations of Intermittent Fasting. Intermittent fasting has gained widespread popularity for its therapeutic potential, but how do we apply it safely and effectively? In this engaging lecture, Sidney explores the science behind fasting as a metabolic tool, from improved blood sugar regulation and enhanced mental clarity to fat metabolism, energy balance, and the role of autophagy in long-term health. You’ll leave with a clearer understanding of when and how intermittent fasting can be helpful and when it may not be the right fit.
