These days, it’s easy to question the validity and truth of God’s commandments.
When we see others—or even ourselves—choose to disobey and nothing seems to happen right away, we start to think, “Well, I tried it. There were no consequences. So maybe it’s fine.”
But not all consequences are immediate or visible. What we often overlook is the effect of willful disobedience on our eternal welfare—the quiet, lasting impact on our spiritual peace, direction, and relationship with God.
Faith isn’t about testing sin to see if the warnings are real. Faith is choosing to trust God’s promises, even before we see the results.
Some feel they need to experience the damage before they believe it’s destructive. The faithful choose to believe first—because they know God’s counsel is given in love, not restriction.
We don’t have to experience spiritual harm to know it is real. We choose obedience because we trust the One who promises eternal blessings.
