These days, it’s easy to question the validity and truth of God’s commandments.

When we see others—or even ourselves—choose to disobey and nothing seems to happen right away, we start to think, “Well, I tried it. There were no consequences. So maybe it’s fine.”

But not all consequences are immediate or visible. What we often overlook is the effect of willful disobedience on our eternal welfare—the quiet, lasting impact on our spiritual peace, direction, and relationship with God.

Faith isn’t about testing sin to see if the warnings are real. Faith is choosing to trust God’s promises, even before we see the results.

Some feel they need to experience the damage before they believe it’s destructive. The faithful choose to believe first—because they know God’s counsel is given in love, not restriction.

We don’t have to experience spiritual harm to know it is real. We choose obedience because we trust the One who promises eternal blessings.

Our efforts — obedience to God’s commandments, keeping covenants, faith, and repentance — are required as part of discipleship. These actions help us receive and access the grace of Jesus Christ, but they do not earn salvation.

Salvation is possible because Jesus Christ gave His life for us. His Atonement bridges the gap between our best efforts and God’s perfect plan.

Wherever you are on your journey, His grace is sufficient.

Faith isn’t about changing God’s plan—it’s about letting Him lead, trusting His timing, and acting boldly on His will. As President Nelson reminds us, true faith is to ‘let God prevail’ in our lives. When we surrender our doubts and step forward in trust, we discover the power, peace, and direction only He can provide.

Jesus Christ met people where they were—with compassion before correction and love before instruction. As His disciples, we are invited to do the same, remembering that genuine love opens the way for healing, growth, and understanding.

There are times when we seek clear direction before acting. Yet the Lord often provides revelation as we act in faith, guiding our steps along the way.

God’s greatest desire is not that we simply follow rules—but that we choose Him with a "heart and a willing mind". He knows life is full of opposition, pain, and unanswered questions, yet He invites us each day to turn to Him not because we must, but because we want to.

In your hardest moments—whether you are a parent teaching a child, someone carrying burdens alone, or a soul striving for peace—God is inviting you to choose Him again today.

If we only look for answers in the way we expect to receive them, we risk missing the very guidance we asked for.

Remember, faith isn't about telling our Heavenly Father how to solve our problems; it’s about having the ears to hear the answer, even when it comes in a way we didn't expect.

There are thousands of voices competing for your attention today, but only one voice leads to eternal peace—it is the Savior, Jesus Christ.

When we make the choice to consistently study His words and seek His face in prayer, we are doing more than just "being religious." We are placing ourselves under His protection. That daily effort is what keeps us from being "derailed" by the steady beat of the world.

There are moments that push us past what we thought we could handle.

Yet we’re reminded that we are never tested beyond what we’re able to endure (1 Corinthians 10:13).
