Amazing innovation by Beit Issie Shapiro

Looking for a simple free AAC buttons app? Take a look at the IssieSays app by Beit Issie Shapiro.

It is available for iOS and Android and can be used on an iPhone, iPad, Android phone or tablet.

You can create a screen with 1-4 buttons, use a white or black background, set a button color, search for open source symbols or import your own images, add a label, record audio and save your buttons in different Profiles. I love the visualization that appears below a button when it’s speaking.

Since parents typically have their smartphone with them this can be a nice simple tool to add to their AAC toolkit for on-the-go use especially in situations like Trick or Treating where simple quick communication is needed.

The sound quality will likely be better than inexpensive voice output buttons.

In order to edit do a long press on the gear in the top right corner. After the black ring (or white ring if using a black background) around it disappears it will unlock the Settings area where you can edit. That’s how they prevent unintended editing.
