I was recently asked β€œWhat does the CWB Association mean to me”.

To me, it’s a community that reminds me why I fell in love with welding in the first place.

It’s a place where tradespeople, students, educators, and industry leaders all come together with a shared passion for building, creating, and improving the welding industry for the next generation.

It’s where knowledge isn’t kept, it’s shared.

It’s where opportunities grow, ideas circulate, and people genuinely want to see each other succeed.

It’s where we fight for diversity, and ensure everyone is treated equally.

It represents connection, mentorship, and pride in our passions.

I get to work with some of the coolest welding professionals across the world, that dedicate their free time to give back to their communities through our 18 Chapters.

It means belonging to a 100 year old legacy of tradespeople who believed in hard work and leaving things stronger than when they found it.

Knowing that the work we do today will help shape the next hundred years, just as those before us shaped the last.

The real roots of the beginning of Think Pink Welding was making Christmas gifts out of horseshoes I would collect from the farrier 🐎

It’s been 8 months since I’ve had my last drop of alcohol and it’s been an unexpected journey that I had no plan for!

I’ve learned you don’t need a plan for everything and I still manage to surprise myself with the will of accomplishing anything I set my mind to 🀘🏼

3 months ago, I was standing in front of 500+ mentors and youth with a microphone in one hand, and a shaky hand holding my cue cards. There was a video camera, bright lights, and all eyes focused on me. Talk about being terrified and excited all at once!

Last year, I attended the HIEC - Halton Industry Education Council Women as Career Coaches event and I was truly blown away by the energy in the room. I never imagined that the following year, I would be on that stage as a Spotlight Speaker! 🎀

This empowering evening is designed to provide the next generation with the opportunity to discover a wide range of potential career paths ✨

This opportunity was a first for me, and I am proud of myself for seeing it through because I could never have expected the positive response I received from my unconventional journey through my welding career.

My favourite quote that I always remind myself is β€œFeel the fear & do it anyway”! 🀘🏼
