"No! We're not joking!"

Listen in!
Next week we are going to do it all over again!

What would you do with the money if you won???
The removal of the garbage truck on Kemptown Road has many resources there right now, but it has gotten fairly complex with the road ice. It is a gravel road but currently a sheet of ice and they are awaiting a sand truck before full recovery can occur. There are extra wreckers on site due to the icy conditions and the extra weight of being a loaded truck.
We understand that DOT is on scene. Heavy wreckers on scene from T&R Truck Repair, MacKay's Truck & Trailer Center and After-Crash Auto Recyclers. The accident is near the intersection of the Kemptown Road and the MacKenzie Settlement Road in Kemptown.
Best to check rural school bus routes in the morning with that degree if ice.
Listen to John Guinan's story and how you can help maybe save the life of a loved one, a friend or a total stranger!
You can spend an hour or less and learn how to run an AED.
And we want to help you understand how easy it is.
Emergency Health Services - EHS is putting a free session on at the Rath Eastlink Community Centre. And not only is it free, there will be gift cards you can win and maybe some swag all because they want to show you how easy it is to operate.

Last evening, Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Nova Scotia and Five Islands Volunteer & District Fire Brigade received initial calls of a stranded person on one of the islands. While information was gathered and rescue assets organized, Colchester Ground Search and Rescue Association, East Hants Ground Search and Rescue as well as Springhill GSAR were summoned.. The joint Rescue Coordination Centre was notified and the Cormorant was able to located the person and retrieve them and deliver to a nearby location. Emergency Health Services - EHS was on site and assessed the person who is believed to have not suffered any injuries.
Great work everyone!
Truro & Colchester Code 1 Coverage came through it on the weekend...and it flowed pretty decently. It was during a quiet volume time period.
How have you found it since the soft launch?

Description and Video From the Town of Truro: re the roundabout project:
Willow Street / McClures Mills Road Roundabout: Work continues to progress on the construction of the new roundabout. The concrete for the roundabout center island is currently being placed and the other concrete islands are being prepped for concrete placement. Street reconstruction and fine grading of the street is nearly complete. Residents have begun to experience how the roundabout will function!
The incident and charges information were shared earlier, this weekend re the details of failure to stop (the white Mustang) and attempts to stop which were called off by Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Nova Scotia members in the interest of public safety.
Just how willing to flee the charged person is, is demonstrated by the video below. This appears to be at the Canso Causeway. Exercising use of force in split second decision points is always a challenge for responding law enforcement. I hope this driver realises how close he may have come to a very different outcome. This call looked like a very challenging one. Good work members. Video has no sound.

From Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Nova Scotia previously:
RCMP Charges Man After Failing to Stop for Police in Antigonish
The RCMP Antigonish County District has charged a 27-year-old man with multiple driving offences after he failed to stop for police on several occasions.
On September 6, 2024, at approximately 6:18 p.m., RCMP officers from Colchester District attempted to stop a vehicle traveling at 173 km/h in a 110 km/h zone on Highway 104. The vehicle, a white Ford Mustang, failed to stop, prompting officers to disengage in the interest of public safety. RCMP Colchester District immediately alerted their counterparts in RCMP Pictou District.
At 6:30 p.m., RCMP officers in Pictou District attempted to stop the same vehicle, which was observed traveling at 163 km/h in a 110 km/h zone on Highway 104. Once again, the vehicle failed to stop, and officers disengaged due to public safety concerns. Pictou District then informed RCMP Antigonish Detachment.
At 6:53 p.m., RCMP officers in Antigonish attempted to conduct a traffic stop after the vehicle was spotted traveling at 144 km/h in a 110 km/h zone on Highway 104. During this attempt, officers disengaged the traffic stop for public safety purposes, as the Mustang’s speed increased to 218 km/h.
At 7:13 p.m., RCMP officers from Inverness Distr

UPDATED VIDEO:
Have visited the site and checked on progress of the undermining. The road gap is widening and may worsen overnight. There is no road access/egress for the approximate 50 homes in the subdivision. DTPW is on scene for the night to monitor. It is hoped that the flow will slow enough in the morning to make repairs to allow access in and out. Valley-Kemptown & District Fire Brigade has visited to site to understand the challenges for fire or medical needs of the residents. The high rainfalls have presented challenges all over NS today. This updated video show the area and the subdivision from overhead. Access/egress by foot is currently gain through a yard across from the Valley-Kemptown & District Fire Brigade Fire Hall.

The challenge with this road (Hillvale Dr in Valley) is, it is the only way in or out to the almost 50 homes in this subdivision in the area .
